The global, regional, and national burden attributable to low bone mineral density, 1990–2020: an analysis of a modifiable risk factor from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021

open access: yes
BACKGROUND: Fractures related to osteoporosis and low bone mineral density lead to substantial morbidity, mortality, and cost to individuals and health systems.

Breaking the Durability–Power Trade‐Off: Boron‐Directed Faceted O3 Cathodes for High‐Rate Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Boron‐oxide‐assisted particle engineering stabilizes O3‐type layered cathodes for sodium‐ion batteries by mitigating phase transitions and lattice strain. Acting as flux and structural modifier, boron forms submicron hexagonal platelets with (003) facets and expanded Na‐layer spacing, enabling rapid Na⁺ diffusion and mechanical resilience.

Are PSA density and PSA density of the transition zone more accurate than PSA in predicting the pathological stage of clinically localized prostate cancer?

open access: yes, 2008
Purpose: To assess whether PSA density (PSAD) and PSA density of the transition zone (PSADTZ) are more accurate than PSA alone in predicting the pathological stage of prostate cancer.

Evaluation of mechanical behavior and microstructural studies of paper sludge ash-treated fine grained soil: A step towards sustainable building materials

open access: yesScientific Reports
It is well known that waste generation and its poor disposal practices have adverse environmental impacts. This study investigates a sustainable solution to improve soil properties using paper sludge ash (PSA), focusing on the physical, mechanical, and ...

A Closed‐Loop Direct Recycling Process for Prussian White From Scrap and End‐of‐Life Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A closed‐loop direct recycling route for Prussian White sodium‐ion battery cathodes is demonstrated. Ice‐stripped scrap and end‐of‐life electrodes are regenerated via low‐temperature aqueous resodiation (80°C), restoring sodium content, Fe2+ redox chemistry, and structural integrity.

Not All Agreements Are Equal: Heterogeneous Effects of RTAs on Latin American Agri‐Food Exports, 1990–2019

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Since the final decade of the 20th century, Latin American countries have increasingly regarded the signing of regional trade agreements (RTAs) as a promising strategy for expanding their exports. Within this context, the main objective of this study is to assess the impact of RTAs on agri‐food exports in Latin America over the period 1990 ...

Balancing Exploration and Exploitation Through a Sequential Hybrid of Roach Infestation and Mayfly Algorithms for Constrained Engineering Design Optimization

open access: yesAI &Innovation, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Maintaining an effective balance between exploration and exploitation is essential during optimization processes, from mathematical functions to more complex problems such as constrained engineering design optimization, particularly when addressing highly nonlinear issues with numerous local optima and strict feasibility requirements.

Responsible Artificial Intelligence in Courts: A Four‐Test Framework

open access: yesAI &Innovation, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A structured framework for responsible AI applications relating to judicial decision‐making and the adjudicative functions of courts requires the satisfaction of multiple context‐specific safeguards. This article proposes a four‐test framework designed to evaluate whether AI systems used in courts operate in accordance with legal, procedural ...

Construction and evaluation of a chronic arthritis animal model induced by persistent activation of toll‐like receptors via lipopolysaccharide stimulation

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
We constructed a novel systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis mouse model (LC) by introducing sustained TLR4 activation into the collagen‐induced arthritis model. The LC model effectively recapitulates human sJIA‐like systemic inflammation while revealing a critical dissociation between systemic immune activation and joint damage.
