Bi[IrBi6I12], Ag3[IrBi6I12], and BixCu3–3x[IrBi6I12]: Rock‐Salt Superstructures Based on Heavy‐Atom Clusters

New iridium‐containing bismuth subiodides based on cuboctahedral [IrBi6I12]3− clusters adopt chain‐like or rock‐salt‐related structure variants depending on the counter‐cations. Ag3[IrBi6I12] combines silver mobility at room temperature with long‐range ordering at low temperature, while DFT calculations reveal semiconducting behavior.

Engineering Lithium Vacancies Through Group 13 Metal Incorporation in Cubic Li3Sb

The two novel solid solution series Li12−3xGaxSb4 and Li12−3xInxSb4 crystallize as defect variants of β‐Li3Sb. Aliovalent Ga/In substitution induces tunable Li‐vacancy formation, accompanied by composition‐dependent lattice contraction for Ga or expansion for In.
