Abstract Members of Bacillus cereus have been documented as important bacterial pathogens in aquaculture. However, scarce information is available on B. cereus isolates as causal pathogens of big‐belly seahorses Hippocampus abdominalis. In the present study, a B. cereus isolate (SH1), recovered from a disease outbreak on a seahorse farm, was identified

Here we report a case of PVL‐negative MSSA necrotizing pneumonia in a previously healthy man that rapidly progressed to cavitary lesions and refractory pneumothorax. Despite its improvement after clindamycin‐based therapy, the patient experienced recurrent pneumothorax and chronic respiratory failure.

Introduction Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a leading cause of severe nosocomial infections worldwide. This opportunistic pathogen is associated with increased morbidity and mortality rates due to its high levels of antibiotic resistance. The identification of novel therapeutic targets is therefore a pressing global health priority.

Cytotoxic Effect of Immunotoxin Containing The Truncated Form of Pseudomonas Exotoxin Cell Lines [PDF]
Objective: Immunotoxins (ITs) have been developed for the treatment of cancer, and comprise of antibodies linked to toxins. Also vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) plays a key role in tumor angiogenesis, and the blockade of VEGF receptor-2 (VEGFR2)

Mechanism of GSDMD in the Pathogenesis of Pasteurella multocida PmCQ2
Pasteurella multocida serotype A (PmCQ2), a Gram‐negative zoonotic pathogen, causes severe respiratory disease in a variety of domestic and wild animals, leading to high morbidity and mortality and substantial agricultural economic losses. Pyroptosis, a gasdermin‐mediated programmed cell death mechanism, facilitates pathogen clearance but exacerbates ...

Secondary Necrosis Following Caspase‐Activation can Occur Independently of Gasdermin E
Secondary necrosis follows apoptosis, but its mechanism is unclear. This study shows that although gasdermin E is cleaved during this process, it is not required for membrane rupture. Across multiple models, secondary necrosis occurred regardless of gasdermin E presence, challenging prior claims and redefining the understanding of how apoptotic cells ...

Phenotypic and Genotypic Profile of Enterobacteriaceae Isolated at a Teaching Hospital in Ghana
This study identified a significant prevalence of antimicrobial resistance determinants within Enterobacteriaceae isolates, with particular emphasis on those producing extended‐spectrum β‐lactamases (ESBL). These isolates harbored diverse antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), plasmid replicons, and virulence factors (VFs), highlighting the imperative for
