Detection of Pseudorabies Virus in Hunting Dogs in Greece: The Role of Wild Boars in Virus Transmission [PDF]
Aujeszky’s disease, or pseudorabies, is a viral infection caused by Suid herpesvirus 1 (pseudorabies virus), with swine as its natural host. Although eradicated in domestic pigs in many European countries, PRV remains endemic in wild boar populations ...

Advances in molecular epidemiology and detection methods of pseudorabies virus [PDF]
Pseudorabies (PR), a highly contagious disease caused by the pseudorabies virus (PRV), represents a significant threat to the global swine industry. Despite the success of developed countries in controlling the PRV epidemic through swine pseudorabies ...

Pseudorabies in Captive Coyotes [PDF]
Pseudorabies (Aujeszky's disease) was diagnosed in three adult captive coyotes (Canis latrans) from southern Indiana (USA). The coyotes died in their outdoor enclosure within a 48 hr period. Histopathology revealed multifocal, nonsuppurative meningioencephalitis and eosinophilic intranuclear inclusion bodies within neurons.

The Epidemiology and Variation in Pseudorabies Virus: A Continuing Challenge to Pigs and Humans
Pseudorabies virus (PRV) can infect most mammals and is well known for causing substantial economic losses in the pig industry. In addition to pigs, PRV infection usually leads to severe itching, central nervous system dysfunction, and 100% mortality in ...

Identification of a porcine liver eomes-high-T-bet-low NK cell subset that resembles human liver resident NK cells [PDF]
Natural killer (NK) cells are cells of the innate immunity and play an important role in the defense against viral infections and cancer, but also contribute to shaping adaptive immune responses. Long-lived tissue-resident NK cells have been described in

Aujeszky’s Disease and the Development of the Marker/DIVA Vaccination Concept
Aujeszky’s disease or pseudorabies is an infection of animals caused by Suid alphaherpesvirus 1, also designated as pseudorabies virus (PrV). Whereas many mammals are susceptible to PrV, only pigs are able to survive productive infection.
