Basic Implementation of Multiple-Interval Pseudospectral Methods to Solve Optimal Control Problems [PDF]
A short discussion of optimal control methods is presented including indirect, direct shooting, and direct transcription methods. Next the basics of multiple-interval pseudospectral methods are given independent of the numerical scheme to highlight the ...

Evolving relativistic fluid spacetimes using pseudospectral methods and finite differencing [PDF]
We present a new code for solving the coupled Einstein-hydrodynamics equations to evolve relativistic, self-gravitating fluids. The Einstein field equations are solved on one grid using pseudospectral methods, while the fluids are evolved on another grid

Motional Induction in Ganymede's Ocean
Abstract We investigate the magnetic signature of oceanic circulation in Ganymede's subsurface ocean using kinematic induction modeling. Our approach couples zonal jet flows from rotating thermal convection simulations with magnetic field models incorporating Ganymede's internal dynamo and external contributions from Jupiter.

Survey of Direct Transcription for Low-Thrust Space Trajectory Optimization with Applications
Space trajectory design is usually addressed as an optimal control problem. Although it relies on the classic theory of optimal control, this branch possesses some peculiarities that led to the development of ad hoc techniques, which can be grouped into ...

ABSTRACT This article addresses the problem of quantifying the uncertainty in planning aircraft ground movement operations using towbarless robotic tractors taking into account the inherent uncertainties of the problem, specifically, the uncertainties in the weight of the aircraft and in the rolling resistance of the wheels of the main landing gear ...

A note on stability of pseudospectral methods for wave propagation
In this paper we deal with the effects on stability of subtle differences in formulations of pseudospectral methods for solution of the acoustic wave equation.

Breaking Barriers in High‐Order Spectral Methods: The Intrinsic Matrix Approach
ABSTRACT This paper introduces a unified framework in Hilbert spaces for applying high‐order differential operators in bounded domains using Chebyshev, Legendre, and Fourier spectral methods. By exploiting the banded structure of differentiation matrices and embedding boundary conditions directly into the operator through a scaling law relating ...

A quantum graph FFT with applications to partial differential equations on networks
The Fast Fourier Transform is extended to functions on finite graphs whose edges are identified with intervals of finite length. Spectral and pseudospectral methods are developed to solve a wide variety of time dependent partial differential equations on
