Gaudalges averianovi sp. nov. (Acariformes: Psoroptidae)—a new parasite of Malagasy lemurs
Systematic and Applied Acarology, 2018A new species Gaudalges averianovi sp. nov. (Acariformes: Psoroptidae: Makialginae) is described from Lepidolemur ruficaudatus Grandidier (Primates: Lepilemuridae) from Madagascar. A key to all known species of the genus Gaudalges Fain, 1963 is given. This is the first finding of mites of the genus Gaudalges on lemurs of the family Lepilemuridae.

Psoroptidae mites are a type of small mites with a wide range of hosts. The proliferation of Psoroptidae mites could cause symptoms such as severe itching, atopic dermatitis, and hair loss in infected animals. If severely infected, death can also occur.

Species of the genus Psoroptes (Acari: Psoroptidae): A taxonomic consideration
Experimental & Applied Acarology, 2000The biosystematic status of mite species belonging to the genus Psoroptes Gervais, 1841 is difficult to determine by phenotypic methods and has been subject to taxonomic revisions and ongoing debate. At present, the existence of five species, P cuniculi (Delafond, 1859), P. ovis (Hering, 1838). P. equi (Hering, 1838), P.

The basic morphology of the digestive, reproductive, and nervous Systems of the sheep scab mite, Psoroptes ovis Hering, was defined by light microscopy. An understanding of the stricture of the digestive system of P. ovis is prerequisite to identification of target antigens in specific regions of the digestive tract using immunocytochemistry. Results of the effect of synthetic analogs of juvenile hormones of insects, dimiline, altozide and altozare, on the mite P. cuniculi have been shown. It has been noted that repeated coverings of mites in Petri dishes and rabbits' skin with 0.005--5% emulsions of altozide, 0.005--10% emulsions of altozare and 0.25--8% suspensions of dimiline cause no ...
