EmoAgent: Assessing and Safeguarding Human-AI Interaction for Mental Health Safety [PDF]
The rise of LLM-driven AI characters raises safety concerns, particularly for vulnerable human users with psychological disorders. To address these risks, we propose EmoAgent, a multi-agent AI framework designed to evaluate and mitigate mental health hazards in human-AI interactions.

FABP4 as a Mediator of Lipid Metabolism and Pregnant Uterine Dysfunction in Obesity
Obesity during late pregnancy contributes to uterine smooth muscle dysfunction, but the underlying mechanisms are unclear. This study identifies fatty acid binding protein 4 (FABP4) as a key player in the process, mediating excessive fatty acid uptake, lipid accumulation, and mitochondrial dysfunction in myometrial cells. FABP4 could be a novel uterine

Cognitive flexibility in autism: Evidence from young autistic children
Abstract We examined the cognitive flexibility performance of young autistic children and a group of neurotypical peers. Thirty‐six autistic children (72–83 months) and 200 age‐matched typically‐developing children were assessed on the Children's Color Trails Test (CCTT), a semantic and a phonemic verbal fluency task.

Reduced social attention in autism is magnified by perceptual load in naturalistic environments
Abstract Individuals with autism spectrum conditions (ASC) describe differences in both social cognition and sensory processing, but little is known about the causal relationship between these disparate functional domains. In the present study, we sought to understand how a core characteristic of autism—reduced social attention—is impacted by the ...

Timeliness in Lossless Block Coding [PDF]
We examine lossless data compression from an average delay perspective. An encoder receives input symbols one per unit time from an i.i.d. source and submits binary codewords to a FIFO buffer that transmits bits at a fixed rate to a receiver/decoder. Each input symbol at the encoder is viewed as a status update by the source and the system performance ...
