Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

The effect of gender, age, and body mass index on the medial and lateral posterior tibial slopes: a magnetic resonance imaging study

open access: yesKnee Surgery & Related Research, 2021
Background The posterior tibial slope (PTS) is crucial in knee joint stability and in maintaining the natural movement of the knee. An increase in the PTS is associated with various knee pathologic conditions, such as anterior cruciate ligament (ACL ...

Nucleobase Stacking Sustained by Pt−Pt Interactions

open access: yesChemistryEurope
AbstractThis article reports the use of metal–metal interactions as a way to induce nucleobase stacking in a dinucleotide chain. We synthetized and study a series of C,N‐cyclometallated platinum(II) binuclear complexes derived from 6‐phenylpurine dinucleotide 1 as proligand, and β‐diketonates, 2,2'‐bipyridines and 1,10‐phenanthroline as ancillary ...

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

The IS2 Element Improves Transcription Efficiency of Integration-Deficient Lentiviral Vector Episomes

open access: yesMolecular Therapy: Nucleic Acids, 2018
Integration-defective lentiviral vectors (IDLVs) have become an important alternative tool for gene therapy applications and basic research. Unfortunately, IDLVs show lower transgene expression as compared to their integrating counterparts. In this study,

Longitudinal genome‐wide aneuploidy measurements in circulating cell‐free DNA to predict lack of benefit from pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

Reduced complexity PTS and new phase sequences for SLM to reduce PAP of an OFDM signal

open access: yes, 2000
This paper presents a simplified version of partial transmit sequences (PTS) and a new scheme for selected mapping sequences to reduce peak-to-average power ratio (PAP) of an OFDM signal.

Development of bismuth-based solutions for well plugging and abandonment: A review

open access: yesPetroleum Research
Plugging and abandonment (P&A) is a crucial step of the well life cycle. Regardless of how long one stretches the productive life of a well, P&A operations will have to be carried out eventually.
