Promoting smoking cessation and preventing relapse to tobacco use following a smokefree mental health in‐patient stay: A multi‐centre randomised controlled feasibility study

Molecular Characterization of Non‐Specific Esophagitis Reveals a Distinct Non‐Eosinophilic Phenotype With Fibrotic Traits

This study comprehensively characterizes non‐specific esophagitis and elucidates eosinophil‐independent fibrosis mechanisms. NSE appears to be a distinct fibrotic phenotype of the esophagus, without any considerable overlap with GERD and other chronic inflammatory disorders such as EoE or lymphocytic esophagitis.

Mepolizumab Modifies Blood Eosinophil Proteome and Transcriptome in Severe Eosinophilic Asthma

This study investigates the effect of mepolizumab on the proteomic and transcriptomic profile of blood eosinophils in SEA patients. Mepolizumab reduces the migratory capacity and effector‐related molecular signatures of circulating eosinophils in SEA patients.

Single‐Cell Profiling Links T‐Cell Accumulation and TH2/TH17 Dynamics to Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE) Activity in Children

Active EoE is associated with more and deeper epithelial eosinophil, mast cell, and T cell infiltration; inactive EoE resembles controls. During remission, PPI treatment leaves more tissue resident CD3+ T‐cells than TS. In active EoE, TH2 cells, IL‐10hi Tregs, and CD8+ cytotoxic T cells are enriched, while TH17 cells are relatively depleted.

Anti‐Reflux Procedures in Australia, 2000/1 to 2023/4: Increasing Rates in Females and in Older Patients

ANZ Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.
Anti‐reflux and paraoesophageal hernia surgery rates in Australia rose markedly from 2000 to 2024, especially among females and older adults. Hiatal closure procedures increased while isolated fundoplasty declined, highlighting shifting surgical practice and notable sex‐ and age‐related differences in treatment patterns.
