The effect of higher versus lower wattage e‐cigarettes on smoking: A randomized controlled trial
Abstract Aims To assess whether higher wattage e‐cigarettes (HWe), with improved nicotine delivery, enhance complete substitution compared with lower wattage e‐cigarettes (LWe) and whether complete switching lowers exposure to a cigarette‐derived lung carcinogen, using urinary 4‐(methylnitrosamino)‐1‐(3‐pyridyl)‐1‐butanol (NNAL) as a biomarker.

Abstract Background and Objectives Social media exposure may influence early nicotine experimentation, a behavior linked to later nicotine dependence and health risks. Few studies have examined the role of smoking expectancies (i.e., beliefs about the anticipated positive or negative effects of nicotine) as a pathway underlying this association ...

Composition for Pufferfish Privacy
When creating public data products out of confidential datasets, inferential/posterior-based privacy definitions, such as Pufferfish, provide compelling privacy semantics for data with correlations. However, such privacy definitions are rarely used in practice because they do not always compose.

Rapid clinical relief of allergy symptoms during 18 months of sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) for house dust mite (HDM) is associated with increased serum IgE, IgG2, and IgG4 to Der p 1 and Der p 2. Der p 1 and Der p 2 specific Type 2 memory B cells are expanded at 4 months and 12 months of SLIT, with increased expression of CD29 and IgG4.

Primate phylogeny: molecular evidence for a pongid clade excluding humans and a prosimian clade containing tarsiers [PDF]
Interpretations of molecular data by the modern evolution theory are often sharply inconsistent with paleontological results. This is to be expected since the theory is only true for microevolution and yet fossil records are mostly about macroevolution.

High‐dose birch‐extract nasal challenge induced synchronous peaks at 4 weeks in serum specific IgE (sIgE) and basophil sensitivity. Mast cell sensitivity via tSPT and sIgG1 and sIgG4 responses peaked later, at 6–8 weeks. Preseasonal allergen exposure attenuated seasonal sIgE increase and prevented further rise in tSPT sensitivity.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the most abundant phytocannabinoids isolated from the Cannabis sativa plant. CBD is a lipophilic, non‐intoxicating substance that differently from Δ9‐tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9‐THC) does not present the typical profile of a drug of abuse.
