Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Bond behavior and assessment of design ultimate bond stress of normal and high strength concrete
The aim of this work is to assess the ultimate bond stress of normal and high strength concrete. This study contains two phases. The first phase included the studied bond behavior using two different models. In the first model, single pull-out test (SPOT)

Fatigue life prediction of z-fibre pinned composite laminate under mode I loading [PDF]
A hybrid method is presented combining linear elastic fracture mechanics with nonlinear damage mechanics that can predict the fatigue crack growth rate in z-fibre pinned composites under mode I loading.

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

INVESTIGATION ON BOND BEHAVIOR OF GLASS MULTIFILAMENTS YARN EMBEDDED IN CEMENTITIOUS MATRIX [PDF]
International audienceThe study of the interaction between multi-filament yarn and cementitious matrix can give a good comprehension of bond and failure mechanism of this type of composite. This study may be carried out by means of pull-out test which is

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Evaluation of adhesion in polymeric fibre reinforced cementitious composites [PDF]
In this study adhesion of some polymeric fibres to a cement matrix was evaluated both by a theoretical and by an experimental approach. In common methods adhesion of the fibres to the cementitious materials is determined by pull-out test.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Effect of fibre treatments on interfacial shear strength of hemp fibre reinforced polylactide and unsaturated polyester composites [PDF]
Surface treatment of hemp fibres was investigated as a means of improving interfacial shear strength (IFSS) of hemp fibre reinforced polylactide (PLA) and unsaturated polyester (UPE) composites. Fibres were treated with sodium hydroxide, acetic anhydride,
