Exposure to Occupational Inhalants and the Risk of Developing Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by joint pain, swelling, and stiffness. Although smoking is a well‐established risk factor for RA, the role of occupational inhalants in RA development is less well recognized.

Annotating aspects in text and image: A new task and dataset for multimodal aspect‐based sentiment analysis

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Aspect‐Based Sentiment Analysis (ABSA) has evolved from textual analysis to a multimodal paradigm, integrating visual information to capture nuanced sentiments. Despite advancements, existing Multimodal ABSA (MABSA) research remains limited in granularity, which focuses on either coarse‐level categories or named entities, neglecting fine ...

Sustainable and cost‐effective process design for energy‐self‐sufficient ethyl lactate production from sugar mill feedstocks: a techno‐economic approach

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Bio‐based ethyl lactate (EL) can replace several fossil‐derived products owing to its low toxicity, high solvent functionality, and environmental advantages. This study assesses the techno‐economic viability and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction potential of producing EL from sugarcane A‐molasses and lignocelluloses in an energy self‐sufficient ...

Integrated bioconversion of starchy and hemicellulosic fractions of macauba oil presscake into ethanol by nonconventional yeasts

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Co‐fermentation of hexoses and pentoses from plant biomass to ethanol is a strategy to increase ethanol production from lignocellulosic materials and add value to residues from agroindustrial chains. The macauba (Acrocomia aculeata) is an oleaginous palm‐tree species considered to contribute to development in some regions of Brazil.

Valorization of paper sludge for bioethanol and biogas production

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract This study evaluated the physicochemical properties and bioenergy potential of three distinct paper sludges: virgin pulp sludge (VP‐PS), corrugated cardboard sludge (CR‐PS), and tissue and printing paper sludge (TPR‐PS). From the experimental runs, VP‐PS exhibited the highest ethanol yield (46.8 ± 3.7 g L−1, 87.4% conversion), which can be ...
