How Can We Improve the Pulp Yield?

open access: yesJAPAN TAPPI JOURNAL, 2001
For pulp and paper production, to obtain a pulp with acceptable quality at a higher yield is the matter of most concern. Since so many factors are affecting to the pulp yield and some factors are still in acontroversy, it is very important to understand the contribution of each factors systematically.

Photocatalytically Activated Cu‐N1S3 Single‐Atom Nanozyme: Enhancing Enzyme Activities and Antibacterial Synergy for Highly Efficient Fruit Preservation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents S‐coordinated Cu single‐atom nanozymes (Cu/CNS) fabricated via mild photocatalytic self‐assembly strategy. The nanozyme exhibits exceptional multi‐enzyme activity and near‐perfect antimicrobial efficacy. Incorporated into chitosan‐gelatin film, it enables pH‐responsive, broad‐spectrum fruit preservation, more than doubling the shelf‐

Dimensional stability of paper containing high-yield pulps.

open access: yesJAPAN TAPPI JOURNAL, 1986
This paper deals with the dimensional stability of paper containing high-yield pulps. The water retention value of some high-yield pulps, hardwood bleached kraft pulp (LBKP) and stone ground wood (SGP), the wet expansivity of the sheets and the effect of drying conditions on the sheets were studied.

Elevator‐Like Hollow Channels in Porous Scaffolds Accelerate Vascularized Bone Regeneration via NETs‐Fibrin‐Mediated Macrophage Recruitment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that how hollow‐channel scaffolds promote vascularized bone regeneration via an immunomodulatory mechanism. The channel structures facilitate the formation of a neutrophil extracellular traps‐fibrin scaffold that recruits vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF‐A)‐secreting M2 macrophages to drive angiogenesis. Combining this

Modeling of acetosolv pulp yields from plantain stalk

open access: yesJournal of Science and Technology (Ghana), 2017
Organosolv pulping processes have been developed as a substitute to the conventional process because of its little or no emission into the environment. Plantain stalk was subjected to acetosolv pulping at atmospheric conditions under the influence of three operating parameters, namely, concentration of acetic acid, H2SO4 – catalyst and time.

A Tangentially Sensitive Tactile Sensor Reveals the Stick‐Slip Mechanism and Enhances Robotic Tactile Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ultralight, multilayer anisotropic tactile sensor—an artificial Pacinian corpuscle—exhibits ultrahigh tangential sensitivity (1022 kPa−1) and spatiotemporal sensing. It discriminates static, sliding, and rolling contacts, detects incipient stick–slip via high‑frequency signatures, and enhances robotic touch (100%/98.18% accuracy for active/passive ...

Comparative Study of Enzymatic Hydrolysis Properties of Pulp Fractions from Waste Paper

open access: yesBioResources, 2015
As a lignocellulosic material, wastepaper is a potential material for ethanol production. However, little research on the enzymatic hydrolysis of wastepaper pulp has been conducted.

Ce‐Doped Lignin‐Based Nanozyme with Heat‐Activated Hydrolase Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel Ce‐doped lignin‐based hydrolase nanozyme (Ce‐AL) is synthesized using Ce ions coordinated with aminated industrial lignin. The Ce‐AL effectively hydrolyzes phosphate ester bonds and protein amide bonds, maintain high activity at 100°C, and successfully fights bacteria biofilms.
