Electric fields in plasmas under pulsed currents [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2007
Electric fields in a plasma that conducts a high-current pulse are measured as a function of time and space. The experiment is performed using a coaxial configuration, in which a current rising to 160 kA in 100 ns is conducted through a plasma that prefills the region between two coaxial electrodes.

Electric-field induced domain-wall dynamics: depinning and chirality switching

open access: yes, 2013
We theoretically study the equilibrium and dynamic properties of nanoscale magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) and magnetic wires, in which an electric field controls the magnetic anisotropy through spin-orbit coupling.

Electrostatic trapping and in situ detection of Rydberg atoms above chip-based transmission lines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Beams of helium atoms in Rydberg-Stark states with principal quantum number $n=48$ and electric dipole moments of 4600~D have been decelerated from a mean initial longitudinal speed of 2000~m/s to zero velocity in the laboratory-fixed frame-of-reference ...

Effect of Pulsed Electric Field Treatment on Seed Germination and Seedling Growth of Scutellaria baicalensis

open access: yesAgriculture
To explore the effects of pulsed electric field treatment on the germination of Scutellaria baicalensis seeds and the growth of seedlings, this study used the response surface methodology to design the working parameters of the pulsed electric field and ...

Analysis of magnetohydrodynamic phenomena in a single spatial electromagnetic field [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
The paper presents the results of the analysis of the disinfection of water by a pulsed single spatial electromagnetic field. The origin of the fluid pressure in the pipe is calculated and graphically presented as the interaction of a single spatial ...

Magnetic and Dielectric Properties in Multiferroic Cu3Mo2O9 under High Magnetic Fields [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The magnetic and dielectric properties under high magnetic fields are studied in the single crystal of Cu3Mo2O9. This multiferroic compound has distorted tetrahedral spin chains.

Effect of Pulsed Electric Field on the Cations Removal from Salt-Affected Soils to Optimize Energy Use Efficiency in Reclamation

open access: yesResources
In arid and semi-arid zones, reclaiming/restoring salt-affected soil is considered a significant challenge because of the limited amount of water available for soil washing.

Pulsed low-field electrically detected magnetic resonance [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review B, 2015
We present pulsed electrically detected magnetic resonance (EDMR) measurements at low magnetic fields using posphorus-doped silicon with natural isotope composition as a model system. Our measurements show that pulsed EDMR experiments, well established at X-band frequencies (10 GHz), such as coherent spin rotations, Hahn echoes, and measurements of ...

Rydberg-Stark states in oscillating electric fields

open access: yes, 2015
Experimental and theoretical studies of the effects of weak radio-frequency electric fields on Rydberg-Stark states with electric dipole moments as large as 10000 D are reported.

Universal deceleration of highly polar molecules

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2015
We propose a method to produce, in a pulsed or continuous way, cold samples of highly polar molecules. Using a pulsed or continuous standard (supersonic) beam of these molecules, our idea consists of transforming the molecules into their anionic ...
