Frequency modulated pulses for quantum bits coupled to time-dependent baths [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We consider the coherent control of a quantum bit by the use of short pulses with finite duration \tau_p. By shaping the pulse, we perturbatively decouple the dynamics of the bath from the dynamics of the quantum bit during the pulse.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Physiological Traits for Shortening Crop Duration and Improving Productivity of Greengram (Vigna radiata L. Wilczek) Under High Temperature

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2019
Greengram is an important protein-rich food legume crop. During the reproductive stage, high temperatures cause flower drop, induce male sterility, impair anthesis, and shortens the grain-filling period.

Diversity Profiling and the Distribution of Pathotypes and Mating Types in Indian Isolates of Ascochyta rabiei Causing Ascochyta Blight of Chickpea

open access: yesPhytoFrontiers, 2023
The prevalence and distribution of pathotypes and mating types of Ascochyta rabiei (Pass.) Labr. were evaluated during the winter (October to March) seasons of 2017-18 and 2018-19. Forty-five A.

Logic circuit detects both present and missing negative pulses in superimposed wave trains [PDF]

open access: yes, 1967
Pulse divide and determination network provides a logical determination of pulse presence within a data train. The network uses digital logic circuitry to divide positive and negative pulses, to shape the separated pulses, and to determine, by means of ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Genomics Enabled Breeding Strategies for Major Biotic Stresses in Pea (Pisum sativum L.)

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Pea (Pisum sativum L.) is one of the most important and productive cool season pulse crops grown throughout the world. Biotic stresses are the crucial constraints in harnessing the potential productivity of pea and warrant dedicated research and ...

Coherent control using adaptive learning algorithms

open access: yes, 2001
We have constructed an automated learning apparatus to control quantum systems. By directing intense shaped ultrafast laser pulses into a variety of samples and using a measurement of the system as a feedback signal, we are able to reshape the laser ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Long-term impact of pulses and organic amendments inclusion in cropping system on soil physical and chemical properties

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Mono-cropping of maize–wheat, mechanical disintegration of soils, and continuous chemical fertilization have deteriorated soil health in the Indo-Gangetic Plains.
