Finding the Pure-Strategy Nash Equilibrium Using a Fixed-Point Algorithm

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
It is well known that determining whether a finite game has a pure-strategy Nash equilibrium is an NP-hard problem and it is an active research topic to find a Nash equilibrium recently. In this paper, an implementation of Dang's Fixed-Point iterative method is introduced to find a pure-strategy Nash equilibrium of a finite n-person game in normal form.

Existence of a pure-strategy Bayesian Nash equilibrium in imperfectly discriminating contests [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We consider a general class of imperfectly discriminating contests with privately informed players. We show that findings by Athey (2001) imply the existence of a Bayesian Nash equilibrium in monotone pure strategies.

On non-existence of Nash equilibrium of M person game with pure strategy for delivery services

2009 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management, 2009
A competitive market model is considered with M suppliers and N customers, where each supplier provides a homogeneous service such as delivering propane gas cylinders and has to offer a uniform price upon delivery to all customers. Given a price upper bound U, the model is formulated as an M person game with pure strategy. It is shown that the M person

On the Existence of Pure Strategy Nash Equilibrium for Non-cooperative Games in L-convex Spaces

2009 International Conference on Intelligent Human-Machine Systems and Cybernetics, 2009
In the setting of L-convex spaces, this paper proves a result ensuring the existence of pure strategy Nash equilibrium for non-cooperative games with infinite countable players. Following the method introduced by Nikaido and Isoda (1955), this paper defines an aggregate payoff function, and next then, determines some restrictions on the aggregate ...

Pure-strategy Nash equilibrium in the spatial model with valence: existence and characterization

Public Choice, 2021
Pure-strategy Nash equilibria almost never exist in spatial majority voting games when the number of positional dimensions is at least two, as the majority core is typically empty when more than one positional dimension is modeled. In the general setting of proper spatial voting games, we study the existence of equilibrium when one candidate has a ...
