Semantic Image Labelling as a Label Puzzle Game [PDF]

open access: yesProcedings of the British Machine Vision Conference 2011, 2011
In this work we introduce a novel solution to the semantic image labelling problem, i.e. the task of assigning semantic object class labels to individual pixels in a test image. Conventional methods are typically relying on random fields for modelling interactions between neighboring pixels and obtaining smooth labelling results using unary and ...

Single‐subject designs in character education: Methods for rigorous, contextual, and practitioner‐led research

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Character education research is often constrained by blunt methodological tools. Surveys capture breadth without depth; case studies offer richness but lack replicability; and randomised controlled trials (RCTs), though indispensable at the policy level, are costly, disruptive and ill‐suited to everyday practice with individual pupils.

Tailoring drug‐to‐lipid ratio in redox‐responsive lipid‐mimetic prodrug liposomes for superior cabazitaxel delivery and antitumor efficacy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Redox‐responsive lipid‐mimetic prodrug liposomes with high drug‐to‐lipid ratios enhance cabazitaxel delivery, prolong circulation, and enable tumor‐selective drug release for superior antitumor efficacy and safety. Abstract Liposomes represent one of the most extensively investigated nanocarriers in drug delivery.

Computational Complexity of Games and Puzzles

open access: yesCoRR, 2018
In this thesis, we survey techniques and results from the study of Complexity Theory and Games. We then apply these techniques to obtain new results for previously unstudied games. Our contributions in the games Hexiom, Cut the Rope, and Back to Bed may be helpful in further studies by exploiting structure common to several games.
