The role of PVC in ion selective electrode membranes
Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry and Interfacial Electrochemistry, 1987Abstract The behaviour of a solution of NaBPh4 in a PVC membrane plasticized by di-octyl sebacate is compared with a solution of NaBPh4 in pure liquid di-octyl sebacate. In the liquid the NaBPh4 is present as ion pairs with ~ 0.2% of these dissociated in a 1 mM solution. By contrast in the membrane 1 mM solution is 74% dissociated. This difference in

Guanidinium-selective PVC membrane electrodes based on crown ethers
Analytica Chimica Acta, 1984Abstract Guanidinium-selective membrane electrodes were constructed with dibenzo-24-crown-8, dibenzo-27-crown-9, tribenzo-27-crown-9 or dibenzo-30-crown-10. The detection limits and selectivity coefficients towards different interfering ions, such as Li + , Na + , K + , NH + 4 , Mg 2+ and Ca 2+ were determined.

Metalloporphyrin Derivatives as Neutral Carriers for PVC Membrane Electrodes
Analytical Chemistry, 1994The anion-sensitive membrane electrodes based on lipophilic metalloporphyrin derivatives (FeTPP) 2 O show similar anti-Hofmeister selectivity sequence: SCN - >I - >ClO 4 - >NO 2 - >Br - >Cl - >NO 3 - . RETRACTED: Bromhexine-Selective PVC Membrane Electrode Based on Bromhexinium Tetraphenylborate
Microchemical Journal, 1999A bromhexine ion-selective PVC membrane electrode based on bromhexinium tetraphenylborate has been prepared with dioctyl phthalate as plasticizer. The electrode showed a linear response with a slope factor of 57.5 mV/concentration decade at 20°C over the concentration range from 4 x 10 -4 to 10 -1 M bromhexine.
