Properties of PVC based membranes used in ion-selective electrodes

Electrochimica Acta, 1990
Abstract The properties of plasticized PVC membranes as used in ion selective electrodes are reviewed. The kinetic processes at the water/polymer interface are described with particular reference to membranes based on valinomycin.

Copper-selective PVC membrane electrodes based on salens as carriers

Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, 2005
Abstract Copper(II) selective sensors have been fabricated from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) matrix membranes containing carriers, 2,2′-[1,2-ethandiyl-bis(nitrilomethylidine)-bis] meta cresole(I),2,2′-[1,2-ethandiyl-bis(nitrilomethylidine)-bis] para cresole(II) and 2,2′-[1,2-ethandiyl-bis(nitrilomethylidine)-bis] ortho cresole(III) as ionophores ...

Substituted metalloporphyrin derivatives as anion carrier for PVC membrane electrodes

Analytica Chimica Acta, 1995
Abstract The lipophilic metalloporphyrin derivatives containing electron donating or withdrawing groups are used as anion carriers with selectivity characteristics deviated from classical Hofmeister series. The electron effect of the carrier on the selectivity characteristics has been interpreted in terms of the selective coordination action along ...

Calcium-selective electrodes with pvc membranes and solid internal contacts

Analytica Chimica Acta, 1976
Abstract The response of calcium-selective electrodes based on PVC membranes has been investigated. The membrane, containing the calcium salt of di-n-octylphenylphosphoric acid, is in direct contact with the internal electrode made of silver, silver/silver chloride, or teflonized graphite.

A PVC membrane pH-sensitive electrode based on methyldioctadecylamine as neutral carrier☆

Talanta, 1987
A pH-sensitive PVC membrane electrode based on methyldioctadecylamine as neutral carrier has been prepared. It gives linear response over the pH-range 3.0-11.0 and a slope of - 58.4 +/- 0.3 mV/pH (at 20 degrees). The electrode has fairly low resistance and good potential reproducibility.

Pentacoordinate organotin complexes as neutral carriers for salicylate-selective PVC membrane electrodes

Talanta, 1998
Selectivity properties are established for three new electrodes prepared by incorporating three pentacoordinate organotin(IV) complexes, mono(2,4-pentanedionato-o,o') tri(phenylmethyl)tin (DMTBS), mono(benzoylacetonato-o,o') tri(phenylmethyl)tin (MPTBS) and mono(dibenzoylmethanato-o,o') tri(phenylmethyl)tin (DPTBS) into plasticized PVC membranes. These

A new PVC-membrane based ion-selective electrode for perchlorate

2009
The use of the recently synthesized pyridine-containing thia-aza macrocycle 2,8-dithia-5-aza-2,6-pyridinophane as an anion receptor in a PVC-membrane based ionselective electrode was studied. The sensor showed selectivity towards perchlorate anions with a linear working range of 2.1×10-7 to 1.3×10-1 M.
