Crack monitoring using multiple smart materials; fiber-optic sensors & piezo sensors
This article focuses on health monitoring of structures using multiple smart materials. In this research, two fiber-optic sensors, namely fiber Bragg grating (FBG) and fiber-optic polarimetric sensor (FOPS), are investigated for damage detection in the ...

There is empirical evidence that families have responded with much resilience and compassion to caring for persons living with AIDS (PWAs) in their homes (Engelbrecht & Kasiram, 2007; Sekokotla & Mturi, 2004; Simpson & Raniga, 2004).

ABSTRACT Background TeleCHAT is the Comprehensive High‐dose Aphasia Treatment program delivered via telerehabilitation. TeleCHAT is a complex intervention, with delivery challenges arising from its comprehensive scope and individualised therapeutic and technological requirements. Thus, training for speech‐language pathologists (SLPs) in the delivery of

Women bear the brunt of human rights violations faced by persons with albinism. Our ethnographic study showed that critical resilience comes about through social relationships, collective practices, and identities present in communities (local and national). We identified six promising practices in Tanzania and South Africa to strengthen gender equity.

Teasing apart time reference-related encoding and retrieval deficits in aphasia: evidence from Greek, Russian, Italian and English [PDF]
Background: Persons with aphasia (PWAs) are often impaired in time reference/tense production. It has been suggested that this impairment is due to encoding or/and retrieval deficits.
