ABSTRACT Cortical arousals significantly impact obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) pathophysiology and cardiovascular consequences, often mediated by sympathetic activation. While pulse oximetry (PPG) provides an accessible reflection of autonomic responses such as changes in pulse rate (PR) and pulse wave amplitude (PWA), the dynamic influence on other ...

Two-nucleon scattering: merging chiral effective field theory with dispersion relations [PDF]
We consider two-nucleon scattering close to threshold. Partial-wave amplitudes are obtained by an analytic extrapolation of subthreshold reaction amplitudes calculated in a relativistic formulation of chiral perturbation theory.

Perspective-taking is two-sided: misunderstandings between people with Asperger’s syndrome and their family members [PDF]
Misunderstandings are social in nature, always having two sides. Yet the misunderstandings experienced by people with Asperger’s syndrome are usually studied in terms of the individual with a diagnosis, with less emphasis on social relations.

Introduction Co-verbal gestures can facilitate word production among persons with aphasia (PWA) (Rose, Douglas, & Matyas, 2002) and play a communicative role for PWA to convey ideas (Sekine & Rose, 2013).

More to Language than Picture Naming: Norms and Patient Data for a Verb Generation Task [PDF]
Standardized confrontation naming is widely used to measure language impairment in persons with aphasia (PWAs). However, naming often does not reveal severity of language impairment in PWAs.

Abstract Sedentary behaviour is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease. In healthy adults, prolonged uninterrupted sitting acutely increases blood pressure (BP) and aortic stiffness; however, these effects can be mitigated with light physical activity interruptions.

Progress on Neutron-Target Multipoles above 1 GeV
We report a new extraction of nucleon resonance couplings using pi- photoproduction cross sections on the neutron. The world database for the process gn-->pi-p above 1 GeV has quadrupled with the addition of new differential cross sections from the CEBAF

ABSTRACT Background Children with developmental language disorder (DLD) experience difficulties with receptive and expressive language, which can affect their participation in everyday interactions with others. This, in turn, can impact their ongoing language development and ability to form and maintain friendships. This paper describes the development
