Analysis of Peak-to-Peak Current Ripple Amplitude in Seven-Phase PWM Voltage Source Inverters

open access: yesEnergies, 2013
Multiphase systems are nowadays considered for various industrial applications. Numerous pulse width modulation (PWM) schemes for multiphase voltage source inverters with sinusoidal outputs have been developed, but no detailed analysis of the impact of ...

Modulation strategy for single phase PWM inverters

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1998
A novel pulse width modulation (PWM) strategy that closely approximates the harmonic performance of the off-line harmonic minimised PWM technique for single phase PWM inverters is presented. The proposed on-line PWM technique digitally reproduces the characteristics of hysteresis band modulation for which the switching frequency is directly controlled ...

A Simplified Two‐Vector Approach for Common‐Mode Voltage Reduction in Model Predictive Control Drives of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
In this study, a modified model predictive control scheme is proposed, in which a dedicated weighting factor is incorporated into the cost function to explicitly account for common‐mode voltage (CMV) effects during the control process. This modification leads to a significant reduction—up to 40%—in the magnitude of the generated CMV.

A Comparative Study of Harmonic Distortion in Multicarrier Based PWM Switching Techniques for Cascaded H-Bridge Inverters

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2016
Multicarrier based PWM switching patterns are commonly utilized to control Cascaded H-bridge (CHB) inverters. The main contribution of this paper is to comprehensively investigate the effect of various multicarrier based PWM techniques on harmonic ...

Design of pulse width modulation circuit based on PWM modulation

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series
Abstract The key to the modulation technology of the switching power supply is to control the on-off of the power switch and realize the real-time adjustment of the duty cycle with the system through the control signal. In order to improve the realization accuracy of the control signal, a generation method different from the traditional ...

A Novel Bipolar DC Connection Strategy for Photovoltaic Power Plants With a 50% Reduction in DC Cabling Length

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Bipolar configuration is a new topology in the direct current (DC) system of photovoltaic power plants, which is topologically analogous to the bipolar configuration utilised in High‐Voltage Direct Current power transmission systems. DC cable length and copper usage are reduced by 50% using a bipolar configuration.

Projections of Meteorological Drought and Potential Evapotranspiration Using the RegCM4 Over Northeastern Iran

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
We downscale CanESM2 with the Regional Climate Model version 4 (20 km) and evaluate against 15 stations to derive monthly PET (Hargreaves–Samani) and SPEI for northeastern Iran (1990–2009, 2040–2059, 2080–2099). Results show robust PET increases and a shift toward more negative monthly SPEI—especially April–September—indicating earlier onset and longer

A Comprehensive Multistage Average Controller for Trajectory Tracking in Solar‐Powered Mobile Robots: Analysis of Actuator‐Driver and Power Stage Integration

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This work addresses the challenge of bidirectional trajectory tracking in solar‐powered wheeled mobile robots (WMRs), considering the mechanical structure, actuator‐driver, and power stage subsystems. Notably, this is the first study to explicitly model and control the actuator‐driver subsystem within this context. The proposed solution relies

Droplet size spectrum, velocity, angle and flow rate of pulse‐width‐modulated spray nozzles with adjuvants

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Optimizing PWM performance requires not only appropriate duty cycle selection, but also careful choice of adjuvant formulation tailored to each nozzle type. Drift control agents increased droplet size and reduced fine droplets, mitigating PWM‐induced variability. Decreasing the duty cycle consistently narrowed the spray angle.
