Carboxylic acid–pyridine supramolecular heterocatemer in a co-crystal
Journal of Molecular Structure, 2008Abstract Robustness of carboxylic acid–pyridine supramolecular heterosynthon was examined in three 1:2 binary co-crystals of 4,4′-bipyridine with monocarboxylic acids, (4,4′-bipyridine)·( dl -hydroxyphenylacetic acid)2, 1; (4,4′-bipyridine)0.5·(4-bromonaphthalene-1-carboxylic acid), 2 and (4,4′-bipyridine)0.5·(4-methylbenzoic acid), 3.

2‐carbaldoximes of pyridine‐4‐ and 5‐carboxylic acids
Journal of Heterocyclic Chemistry, 1995AbstractA series of pyridine‐2‐carbaldoximes, all of which are substituted at the 4‐ or 5‐position with derivatives of the corresponding carboxylic acids, have been prepared via the corresponding pyridine‐2‐carbaldehydes.

Action of Thionyl Chloride on Carboxylic Acids in Presence of Pyridine
Nature, 1953IN order to use thionyl chloride most effectively for the preparation of acyl chloride, RCO.Cl, a knowledge of the sequence of reactions occurring is desirable. Trichloroacetic acid reacts extremely slowly with thionyl chloride even at higher temperatures; but Carre and Libermann1 have shown that pyridine (1 mol.) helps the reaction.

Polyhedron, 1998
Abstract Pyridine-2-carbonitrile (2-CNpy) undergoes Cu(II) or Co(II)-promoted hydrolysis to pyridine-2-carboxamide (piaH) and/or pyridine-2-carboxylic acid (pycH). The pathway of pycH formation depends on the presence of 2-amino-2-hydroxymethyl-1,3-propanediol (AL1) and on the central atom.

A simple polymerisable carboxylic acid receptor: 2-acrylamido pyridine
TrAC Trends in Analytical Chemistry, 1999Abstract The self-association constant of 2-acrylamido pyridine (AAPY) and its temperature-dependence was determined by 2D-NOE-NMR spectroscopy. AAPY was shown to be a versatile polymerisable receptor for a variety of carboxylic acid derivatives.

Complicated Composting: Persistent Pyridine Carboxylic Acid Herbicides
2015This paper reviews pyridine carboxylic acid herbicide impacts on compost. Pyridine carboxylic acid herbicides are not completely broken down during grass growth, harvest and drying of hay, in the digestive tract of livestock, or during composting. These herbicides are a popular choice for broadleaf weed control because of this persistence: they remain ...
