Role of Pyridines in Medicinal Chemistry and Design of BACE1 Inhibitors Possessing a Pyridine Scaffold

open access: yesPyridine, 2018
Pyridine is a unique aromatic ring. Although pyridines are used industrially, pyridine moieties are present in many natural products, such as vitamins, coenzymes, and alkaloids, and also in many drugs and pesticides.

Purcell‐Enhanced Spectrally Precise Emission in Dual‐Microcavity Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Spectrally precise emission from broadband organic light‐emitting diodes is realized via a dual‐microcavity strategy. This architecture achieves narrowband emission (full width at half maximum, FWHM = 21 nm) with ultrapure color approaching BT.2020 by enhancing the Purcell effect via coupling of excitons with dual‐microcavity resonance.

Tandem Flavin-Iodine-Catalyzed Aerobic Oxidative Sulfenylation of Imidazo[1,2- a]Pyridines with Thiols.

open access: yesJournal of Organic Chemistry, 2018
A green, aerobic sulfenylation of imidazo[1,2- a]pyridines was performed using thiols, a flavin-and-iodine dual catalytic system, and environmentally benign molecular oxygen as the only sacrificial reagent.

A Single‐Metal‐Doped Nanoplatform for Ferroptosis‐Driven cGAS‐STING Pathway Activation in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The cGAS‐STING pathway boosts HCC antitumor immunity but lacks specific activation. Nanoplatform ZMRPF induces HCC ferroptosis via lipid ROS, releasing mtDNA. It synergizes with ZMRPF‐released Mn2⁺ to activate cGAS‐STING, amplifies antigen‐presenting cell activity, reverses HCC immunosuppression, and enables robust systemic antitumor immunity ...

Pyrazolopyridines and Pyrazolopyrimidines as Functional Dipolar Scaffolds: An Approach Regarding Synthesis and Photophysics

open access: yesChemistry
Pyrazolopyridines and pyrazolopyrimidines are 5:6 aza-fused N-heteroaromatic compounds (NHACs) comprising a pyrazole ring fused to a pyridine or pyrimidine ring.

4D Printing of Self‐Immolative Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The integration of self‐immolative polymers (SIPs) into light‐based 3D printed structures is presented as a new “living” 4D printing strategy. By exploiting their metastability and stimuli‐responsiveness, SIP‐containing printed objects can undergo rapid and triggered degrowth under ambient conditions and subsequent regrowth through polymer ...

Using the Photostationary State of Arylazopyrazoles to Control Phase Transitions of Liquid Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A series of new arylazopyrazole photoswitches is designed as dopants for liquid crystalline materials. Unprecedented, the distribution of photoisomers at the photostationary state upon irradiation with light of specific wavelengths (365, 460, 520 nm) is used to control the liquid crystalline phase transitions under isothermal conditions, including ...

The Flögel-three-component reaction with dicarboxylic acids – an approach to bis(β-alkoxy-β-ketoenamides) for the synthesis of complex pyridine and pyrimidine derivatives

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2014
An extension of the substrate scope of the Flögel-three-component reaction of lithiated alkoxyallenes, nitriles and carboxylic acids is presented. The use of dicarboxylic acids allowed the preparation of symmetrical bis(β-ketoenamides) from simple ...

Electron–Matter Interactions During Electron Beam Nanopatterning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article reviews the electron–matter interactions important to nanopatterning with electron beam lithography (EBL). Electron–matter interactions, including secondary electron generation routes, polymer radiolysis, and electron beam induced charging, are discussed.
