Synthesis of analogs of pyridoxal 5?-phosphate and pyridoxamine 5?-phosphate
Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds, 1972The following analogs of pyridoxamine 5′-phosphate (PAMP) have been synthesized by the direct phosphorylation of the corresponding amines: 2-nor-PAMP, 6-methyl-2-nor-PAMP, and 6-methyl-PAMP. A method for the synthesis of analogs of pyridoxal 5′-phosphate (PLP) by the phosphorylation of the Schiff's bases of the corresponding aldehydes with p ...

Fluorimetric determination of beryllium with pyridoxal-5-phosphate
Talanta, 1985A simple, rapid and selective method for the determination of beryllium with pyridoxal-5-phosphate has been developed. The system is only fluorescent (lambda(ex) 360, lambda(em) 460 nm) in the presence of a nitrogenous base such as ammonia, ethylenediamine or pyridine, owing to the possible formation of a ternary complex.

Using (15)N solid-state NMR, we have studied protonation and H-bonded states of the cofactor pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (PLP) linked as an internal aldimine in alanine racemase (AlaR), aspartate aminotransferase (AspAT), and poly-L-lysine. Protonation of the

Thermodynamics properties of pyridoxal 5 phosphate
Journal of Solution Chemistry, 1986The ionization constants and heats of ionization of pyridoxal 5′ phosphate groups in the pH range 2–10 have been determined by potentiometric and calorimetric techniques at 20, 25, 30, and 37°C in 0.1M KCl.

Interaction of pyridoxal 5′ phosphate and malate dehydrogenase
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1971Abstract Mitochondrial malate dehydrogenase (L-malate-NAD + oxidoreductase, E.C.1.1.1.37) of porcine heart is totally and irreversibly inhibited by pyridoxal-5′-phosphate. The course of inactivation appears to be biphasic in nature. The coenzyme, NADH, was observed to fully protect the enzyme from inactivation, suggesting interaction at or near the ...

Pyridoxal–5′–Phosphate and Alkaline Phosphatase [PDF]
Markedly increased circulating concentrations of pyridoxal–5′–phosphate (PLP) were found in each of 14 patients representing all clinical forms of hypophosphatasia, an inborn error characterized by deficient activity of the tissue–nonspecific (bone/liver/kidney) isoenzyme of alkaline phosphatase (AP).

Pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (PLP; vitamin B(6))-catalyzed reactions have been well studied, both on enzymes and in solution, due to the variety of important reactions this cofactor catalyzes in nitrogen metabolism.
