Pyridoxal 5'-phosphate(PLP)is known to combine with bovine serum albumin to form a (1:1) complex which scarcely dissociates, even when subjected to intensive dialysis. When this complex was incubated with apo-aspartate aminotransferase (apoCOT)for an appropriate time and the preincubated mixture then submitted to the usual GOT assay, the appearance of ...

A New Synthesis of Pyridoxal-5-phosphate [PDF]
Abstract By the hydrolysis of pyridoxal-5-phosphate Schiff bases, pyridoxal-5-phosphate was prepared in a crystalline form without any further purification. Pyridoxal-5-phosphate Schiff bases were prepared in good yields by the phosphorylation of pyridoxal Scruff bases and were easily purified by alkali-acid reprecipitation.

Cloning and Characterization of Pyridoxal Kinase from Geobacillus sp. H6a
Pyridoxal kinase encoded by pdxK gene, is the important key enzyme in the salvage pathway of vitamin B6 biosynthesis. The enzyme catalyzes the phosphorylation of the 5′ alcohol groups of free form vitamin B6 into their 5′-phosphate forms that requires ...

The Streptomyces coelicolor small ORF trpM stimulates growth and morphological development and exerts opposite effects on actinorhodin and calcium-dependent antibiotic production [PDF]
In actinomycetes, antibiotic production is often associated with a morpho-physiological differentiation program that is regulated by complex molecular and metabolic networks. Many aspects of these regulatory circuits have been already elucidated and many

Dynamics of the Mammalian Placental Metabolome in Placentogenesis and Embryonic Development
This study identifies three metabolic stages (E8.5, E9.5–10.5, E11.5–14.5) and two transition periods (E8.5–9.5, E10.5–11.5) in mouse placental development. NAD(H) emerges as a key dynamic metabolite that enhances embryonic growth through accelerated segmentation and increased proliferation of mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC)‐induced presomitic ...
