Pyrilamine inhibits nicotine-induced catecholamine secretion

open access: yesNeurochemistry International, 2014
Function of nicotine, which induces activation of all parts of the body including our brain, has been receiving much attention for a long period of time and also been actively studied by researchers for its pharmacological actions in the central nervous system.

The Effects of Pyrilamine on the Selectivity of Phonotaxis

open access: yes, 2023
Hormones modulate phonotactic behaviors of female crickets (Acheta domesticus). This project seeks to observe the changes in phonotactic behavior when anti-histamine is injected in the prothoracic ganglion. The anti-histamine used, pyrilamine, resulted in older, unselective females becoming more selective to the male calling songs.

Effects of chlorpheniramine, pyrilamine and astemizole on intracranial self-stimulation in rats

European Journal of Pharmacology, 1981
Rats implanted in the lateral hypothalamus were used to assess lever pressing for brain stimulation. Lever pressing was increased dose-dependently by chlorpheniramine and decreased dose-dependently by pyrilamine. Astemizole, a new orally long-acting antihistamine did not affect self-stimulation.

Chromatographic Analysis of Chlorpheniramine, Pyrilamine, and Methapyrilene in Combination

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1969
A partition chromatographic method is presented for the separation and quantitation of chlorpheniramine, methapyrilene, and pyrilamine in combination.A solution of p-toluenesulfonic acid and potassium chloride on a column of diatomaceous earth is used to effect the separation. The isolated chlorpheniramine is determined by UV spectrophotometry. The ...

Novel potentiometric sensors for pyrilamine maleate

open access: yesJournal of the Iranian Chemical Society, 2017
The fabrication and electrochemical response characteristics of four novel potentiometric sensors for determination of pyrilamine maleate (PyraH) were described. The sensors include polymeric membrane electrodes (PME1, PME2) and carbon paste electrodes (CPE1, CPE2).

Synergistic relaxing effect of the paracetamol and pyrilamine combination in isolated human myometrium

European Journal of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology, 2011
To evaluate the interaction type of the human uterine relaxant effect of the paracetamol-pyrilamine combination (PPC) in vitro.Uterine strips were contracted with KCl (60 mM) and treated with vehicle or increasing concentrations of paracetamol (100-3200 μM), pyrilamine (3.2-100 μM) or the PPC.
