Assessing Cytoskeletal Destruction During Pyroptosis

2023
Pyroptosis is an inflammatory form of cell death driven by the activation of caspase-1 and/or caspase-11 which cleaves and activates the pore-forming and cell-permeabilizing protein gasdermin-D. Pyroptosis is characterized by cell swelling and release of inflammatory cytosolic content, which were thought to be driven by colloid-osmotic lysis.

Fumarate targets pyroptosis

Science, 2020
Immunometabolism A form of inflammatory cell death called pyroptosis depends on the caspase-mediated cleavage of gasdermin D (GSDMD), the fragments of which assemble into permeability pores that then kill the cell. The mechanisms regulating this important cellular process are not yet fully understood. Humphries et al.

Ferroptosis and Pyroptosis in Epilepsy

Molecular Neurobiology
Epilepsy is sudden, recurrent, and transient central nervous system dysfunction caused by abnormal discharge of neurons in the brain. Ferroptosis and pyroptosis are newly discovered ways of programmed cell death. One of the characteristics of ferroptosis is the oxidative stress generated by lipid peroxides.

[Pyroptosis and stroke].

Sheng li xue bao : [Acta physiologica Sinica], 2018
Pyroptosis is a form of inflammatory programmed cell death activated by caspase-1 and caspase-4/5/11, and involves in the pathogenesis of infectious diseases and nervous system diseases. Pyroptosis is mediated by canonical inflammasome pathway and non-canonical inflammasome pathway.
