Stereoselectivity in the reduction of bicyclic tetramates [PDF]
The reduction of bicyclic tetramates can be achieved with high levels of diastereocontrol, but small changes in the substitution of the bicyclic lactam system can lead to changes in the steric bias of the concave/convex system.

In Situ Lipoprotein‐seeking Dye for in Vivo Real‐Time Imaging of Lipid Dysregulation Diseases
This study develops lipoprotein‐seeking NIR‐II dyes that specifically bind circulating lipoproteins. These dyes form ultra‐stable complexes with endogenous lipoprotein, enabling real‐time, high‐contrast imaging of fatty liver and atherosclerotic plaques. Tunable binding kinetics allow customized imaging windows.

Synthesis and bioactivity of fused- and spiro-β-lactone-lactam systems [PDF]
An investigation of the formation of fused- and spiro-β-lactone annulate to γ-lactams has shown that the fused systems are formed preferentially, under standard conditions, but that spiro systems are accessible only when the formation of the fused system

Synthesis of a-chlorolactams by cyanoborohydride-mediated radical cyclization of trichloroacetamides [PDF]
A cyanoborohydride-promoted radical cyclization methodology has been developed to access α-chlorolactams in a simple and efficient way, using NaBH3CN and trichloroacetamides easily available from allylic and homoallylic secondary amines. This methodology

Does the exception prove the rule? - A comparative study of supramolecular synthons in a series of lactam esters [PDF]
In this paper a series of simple lactam esters and carboxylic acids is studied with respect to their overall conformation and hydrogen bonding patterns. In total, eight lactams featuring Nα-substitution have been synthesized.

The work outlined herein covers a series of novel herbicidal lead structures that possess a pyrrolidinyl pyrazole carboxamide scaffold as a key structural feature, carrying further substituted benzyl side chains. Based on scaffold hopping approaches from known fungicidal and herbicidal compounds and utilizing an optimized synthetic approach, a broader ...
