Abstract Leopard shark immunoglobulins are found in 7S and 17S forms, which are indistinguishable chemically and antigenically, and probably are analogous to IgM molecules of mammals (1). The two molecular forms thus appear to share common H and L polypeptide chains.

Pyrrolidone carboxylic acid (PCA) functions as a moisturizer in the stratum corneum (SC) because it is mainly localized in corneocytes. However, technologies developed to date enable PCA to permeate through the skin without specifically accumulating PCA within the SC and corneocytes.
