Unraveling the fate of 6PPD-Q in aquatic environment: Insights into formation, dissipation, and transformation under natural conditions

open access: yesEnvironment International
The widespread occurrence of N-(1,3-Dimethylbutyl)-N′-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine-quinone (6PPD-Q) in aquatic environments and its hazards to aquatic species underscore the necessity of comprehending its environmental fate.

Trace Ru‐Doped PtCuRu@PtRu Core‐Shell Electrocatalyst for CO‐Resilient Methanol Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We engineered a trace Ru‐doped PtCuRu@PtRu core‐shell nanostructure. This design exploits lattice mismatch‐induced compressive strain between the PtCuRu ternary core and trace Ru‐doped Pt‐rich shell, systematically downshifting the Pt d‐band center to weaken *CO adsorption energetics.

Structural Stabilities and Transformation Mechanism of Rhynchophylline and Isorhynchophylline by Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography/Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (UPLC/Q-TOF-MS)

open access: yesMolecules, 2015
To reveal the structural stabilities and transformation mechanism of rhynchophylline (RIN) and isorhynchophylline (IRN), HPLC and UPLC-Q-TOF-MS method were developed for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the conversion rate.

Enhancing Biogenic Formic Acid Production in the Modified OxFA Process by Acetonitrile Addition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, the beneficial effect of using acetonitrile as a co‐solvent in the modified OxFA process is shown, outperforming methanol, demonstrating improved reaction kinetics combined with high selectivity for the HPA‐2 (H5PV2Mo10O40) catalyzed oxidation of xylose to FA.

Asymmetric Electrostrain/Electrobending in Piezoelectric Ceramics: Role of Defect Dipoles or Oxygen Vacancies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Defect‐configurational origins of the asymmetric apparent electrostrain are revealed in different piezoelectric ceramics via atomic‐scale visualization of defect configurations. Migration of oxygen vacancies leads to the electrobending effect in N2‐sintered BaTiO3, while defect dipoles in Ba0.99TiO2.99 generate true asymmetric electrostrain without ...

Extensive Investigations on Oxidized Amino Acid Residues in H2O2-Treated Cu,Zn-SOD Protein with LC-ESI-Q-TOF-MS, MS/MS for the Determination of the Copper-Binding Site

open access: yes, 2016
The ESI (electrospray ionization)-Q-TOF (tandem quadrupole/orthogonal-acceleration time-of-flight) mass spectrometer combined with the nano-HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography) system was utilized to pinpoint the Cu-binding site in Cu,Zn-SOD ...

A high-mass Q-TOF for the analysis of protein complexes

open access: yes, 2016
A tandem mass spectrometer (a modified Q-TOF) for the analysis of protein complexes was discussed. With nanoflow-ESI, large biomolecular assemblies were amenable to MS analysis in native environments. Using the instrument, complexes of the bacterial GroEL chaperonin were detected as intact molecular ions around m/z 12,000-14,000.

Lewis‐Acid Engineering with Neodymium Promoters as Synergistic Nd‐Ni Dual Sites for Enhanced Urea Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The integration of rare‐metal neodymium centers to engineer Lewis acid sites with nickel centers is proposed as highly efficient UOR catalysts. ABSTRACT The sluggish kinetics of the urea oxidation reaction (UOR) are strongly associated with the high energy barriers required for the C‐N cleavage and N‐N coupling steps.
