Impact of arteriovenous fistula blood flow on serum il-6, cardiovascular events and death: An ambispective cohort analysis of 64 Chinese hemodialysis patients. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
Flows (Qa) of arteriovenous fistula (AVF) impact the dialysis adequacy in hemodialysis (HD) patients. However, data for different access flow levels on outcomes related to long-term dialysis patients, especially in Chinese patients, are limited.

Integration of Spatiotemporal Multi‐Omics in Peach Fruit Unravels a Metabolic Niche and the Genetic Basis of Trichome‐Mediated Stress Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study constructed the first spatiotemporal multi‐omics map of peach fruit and discovered a key candidate gene that synergistically regulates trichome development and drought tolerance through the jasmonic acid signaling pathway, providing insights into the coupling mechanism between development and stress resistance.

Oil‐Coated Nanoplastics Induce Rapid Membrane Disruption and Severe Intestinal Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Oil‐rich food contact dramatically amplifies MNP release from plastic takeout containers, producing oil‐coated nanoplastics with altered surface properties and rapid membrane‐disruptive effects. These particles cause severe intestinal barrier damage and immune dysfunction in mice, and risk modeling suggests that long‐term gastrointestinal burdens may ...

Pierceable, Water‐Resistant, and Transparent Nanofilm Electrodes Comprising Carbon Nanotubes for Long‐Term Monitoring of Plant Electrophysiology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ultra‐flexible electrodes composed of single‐walled carbon nanotubes on a polymeric substrate exhibit excellent transparency, water resistance, and conformability to hairy surfaces. These non‐invasive nanofilms are easily pierced by trichomes, overcoming the structural barriers in plant electrophysiology.

Numerical Modeling of Local Scour Depth at Non-Uniform Piers

open access: yesCivil and Environmental Engineering
One of the most dangerous issues in river engineering is erosion brought on by the flow around bridge piers, which causes failure. As a result, simulating scouring is a crucial technique for assessing the likelihood of scour-related bridge failure.
