Heavy‐Metal‐Free Colloidal Quantum Dots for Photocatalysis

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Heavy‐metal‐free colloidal quantum dots provide sustainable photocatalytic platforms by combining tunable band structures, strong light absorption, and programmable surfaces/interfaces. This Review highlights how core/shell engineering, alloying, defect regulation, ligand design, and hybrid‐interface construction direct charge separation and ...

Thermally Regulated Droplet Microfluidics Enables Uniform, Size‐Controllable DNA‐Nanoparticle Superlattices

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Thermally regulated droplet microfluidics enables controlled assembly of DNA‐functionalized gold nanoparticles into uniform, size‐controllable superlattice crystals. Monodisperse droplets formed at elevated temperature suppress premature hybridization, followed by ultra‐slow cooling to promote near‐equilibrium growth.

Bio‐Compatible Flexible Memristive Devices Enabled by BNNT/MWCNT–ZnO Quantum Dot Hybrid Percolation Networks

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
BNNT rods incorporated into MWCNT–ZnO quantum dot networks regulate charge transport and suppress leakage in flexible, transparent resistive memory devices. The resulting hybrid architecture preserves nonvolatile switching under static bending and after low‐temperature exposure and subcutaneous implantation.

Dual Quantum Dot Molecular FRET Probes for Picomolar DNA Hexaplexing

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
Multiplexed quantification of six different DNA targets from a single 200 µL sample at picomolar concentrations was accomplished by spectrotemporal detection of time‐resolved FRET from a single Tb‐complex donor to two quantum dot acceptors using one‐color excitation and two‐color detection.

Optimization of Fluorescent Nanoparticles Architecture for Efficient Brightness, FRET Efficiency and Biosensing

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
Architecturally controlled fluorescent polymer nanoparticles spatially confine BODIPY dyes within core‐shell‐crown compartments, enabling independent tuning of brightness and FRET efficiency. Core‐localized dyes maximize brightness, while shell positioning enhances energy transfer.
