PFG NMR and QENS diffusion study of n-alkane homologues in MFI-type zeolites [PDF]

open access: yesMicroporous and Mesoporous Materials, 2006
Recent methodological progress in pulsed field gradient (PFG) NMR and quasi-elastic neutron scattering (QENS) is exploited to enhance the range of diffusion measurement of the series of the n-alkane homologues in MFI-type zeolites (silicalite-1, ZSM-5 ...

The charge transport mechanism in Brønsted-acidic protic ionic liquid/water systems – An NMR and QENS study [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Molecular Liquids, 2021
In this study, a protic ionic liquid (PIL), 2-Sulfoethylmethylammonium triflate [2-Sema][TfO] is considered as a potential new proton conducting electrolyte for future polymer membrane fuel cells capable of ambient air operation above 100 °C.

Analysis of QENS in aligned nematic phases [PDF]

open access: yesPhysica Scripta, 1995
The potential of QENS (quasi-elastic neutron scattering) to study molecular diffusive motions is well established, but in nematic phases it has not measured up to expectations due to the complexities of such systems. In this work we report the results of a detailed analysis of QENS data obtained for partially deuterated ethoxybenzylidene-bis ...

Li diffusive behavior of garnet-type oxides studied by muon-spin relaxation and QENS [PDF]

open access: yesSolid State Ionics, 2014
A diffusive behavior of Li+ ion in a garnet-type oxide, Li5 + xLa3ZrxNb2 − x012 with x = 0–2, has been investigated by both a positive muon-spin relaxation (μ+SR) and quasi-elastic neutron scattering (QENS) technique using powder samples.

QENS, WINS and Other Friends

Neutron News, 2019
The origin of the QENS conferences series dates back to 1992, when its first edition—organized by Barbara Gabrys, Spencer Howells, Colin Carlile and Phil Salmon—was celebrated in Windsor, UK.

QENS and PCS study of aqueous BSA–PEO `crowded’ solutions

Physica B: Condensed Matter, 2000
Abstract In this contribution we report first results from a study of aqueous protein–polymer solutions using the complementary techniques of quasielastic neutron scattering (QENS) and photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS). A 15% solution of bovine serum albumin (BSA) without and with 10% PEO600 (polyethylene oxide, M w =600) is used as a model ...

QENS from polymer aggregates in supercritical CO2 [PDF]

open access: yesPhysica B: Condensed Matter, 2000
Abstract We report QENS measurements from PS-b-PFOA aggregates in supercritical CO2. Line shapes are dominated by localized diffusive modes and segmental dynamics of the anchored, finite-length PFOA chains. For Q⩽0.6 A−1, we obtain effective diffusion coefficients of ≅0.8 10−6 cm2/s.

Dynamics of Nanostructures for Drug Delivery: the Potential of QENS

Zeitschrift Fur Physikalische Chemie, 2010
Abstract In recent biomedical studies different nanocarrier systems have been proposed for ´smart´ drug delivery. The engineering of these systems requires as a prerequisite a detailed knowledge of their structure and dynamics at the molecular level.
