Comparison of Rifampin and Isoniazid for Latent Tuberculosis Infection in Kidney Transplant Candidates: Focus on Tolerability and Treatment Completion

open access: yesTransplant Infectious Disease, Volume 28, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
This study comparing 4‐month rifampin with 9‐month isoniazid for latent tuberculosis in kidney transplant candidates showed higher treatment completion rates and no transaminase elevations in the rifampin group. However, some patients experienced an increase in blood pressure while taking antihypertensive medications known to interact with rifampin ...

TASI lectures on AdS/CFT

open access: yes, 2016
We introduce the AdS/CFT correspondence as a natural extension of QFT in a fixed AdS background. We start by reviewing some general concepts of CFT, including the embedding space formalism. We then consider QFT in a fixed AdS background and show that one

Downdraft Devices for Negative Emissions—Quantification Study and Environmental Implication

open access: yesGreenhouse Gases: Science and Technology, Volume 16, Issue 1, Page 75-89, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Methane (CH4) is a potent greenhouse gas with a global warming potential far exceeding that of CO2 over short time horizons. Its removal from the atmosphere remains challenging due to its low ambient concentration and chemical stability. This study explores downdraft energy towers (DETs) as an innovative CH4 mitigation technology that enhances

Reversions of QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus in tuberculosis contact investigation: A prospective multicentre cohort study

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2023
Background Interferon-y Release Assays (IGRA) reversions have been reported in different clinical scenarios for the diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB) infection.

Intermediate‐Temperature Specific Heat of Solids and the Rationale Behind the Maier–Kelley Empirical Formula

open access: yesphysica status solidi (b), Volume 263, Issue 2, February 2026.
We develop a basic‐principles model from an analytically tractable semi‐harmonic Hamiltonian and compare our predictions with experimental data for Cu, Al, Pb, Si, and Ge. The results are quite satisfactory, considering that there are no fitting parameters in our theory.

Nonstandard Bethe Ansatz equations for open O(N) spin chains

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2018
The double row transfer matrix of the open O(N) spin chain is diagonalized and the Bethe Ansatz equations are also derived by the algebraic Bethe Ansatz method including the so far missing case when the residual symmetry is O(2M+1)×O(2N−2M−1).

Algebraic Lattices in QFT Renormalization [PDF]

open access: yesLetters in Mathematical Physics, 2016
The structure of overlapping subdivergences, which appear in the perturbative expansions of quantum field theory, is analyzed using algebraic lattice theory. It is shown that for specific QFTs the sets of subdivergences of Feynman diagrams form algebraic lattices. This class of QFTs includes the Standard model.

PHANTOM UNIVERSE FROM CPT SYMMETRIC QFT [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics D, 2006
We develop a generalization of semiclassical field theory for the case of non-Hermitian Hamiltonians with CPT symmetry and construct a classical cosmological, scalar-field based model describing a smooth transition from ordinary dark energy to the phantom one.

Localised Kikuchi–Fujimoto Disease With Mediastinal Lymphadenopathy: A Case Initially Mimicking Malignant Lymphoma on Endobronchial Ultrasound‐Guided Transbronchial Needle Aspiration Cytology

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
We report a rare case of isolated mediastinal Kikuchi–Fujimoto disease (KFD) in a 37‐year‐old woman, which was initially misinterpreted as malignant lymphoma based on EBUS‐TBNA cytology. Definitive diagnosis was achieved through video‐assisted thoracoscopic surgery, revealing characteristic massive necrosis and histiocytic infiltration.
