Schooling Trajectories and the Development of Brain Dynamics: A Comparative Study of Montessori and Traditional Education

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We investigate whether Montessori and traditional schooling systems shape the developmental trajectory of large‐scale brain dynamics in different ways. We quantify the arrow of time (“non‐reversibility”) in neural activity during resting state and movie‐watching, revealing distinct maturational patterns.

Ultra‐Wide‐Field Noninvasive Imaging Through Scattering Media Via Physics‐Guided Deep Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We propose a physics‐guided adaptive dual‐domain learning method for ultra‐wide‐field noninvasive imaging through scattering media, namely UNI‐Net. Our method not only reduces the requirement for real experimental data by an order of magnitude but also enables clear imaging of complex scenes with an ultra‐large field of view, which is 164 times the OME

Triple‐Mode Ferroelectric Thin‐Film Transistor for Hybrid Electrical–Optical Reservoir Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A triple‐mode ferroelectric thin‐film transistor is developed by integrating Si3N4/HZO/IGZO layers to realize three independent memory modes: electric long‐term, electric short‐term, and optical short‐term. This single‐device architecture functions as both a reservoir and readout layer, achieving 92.43% MNIST accuracy. It offers a fully hardware‐based,

Optimal Power Flow for radial and mesh grids using semidefinite programming

open access: yesTecnoLógicas, 2017
This paper presents a convex formulation for optimal power flow (OPF) in both radial and meshed grids. A semidefinite programming (SDP) approximation transforms the quadratic non-convex model into a relaxed convex quadratic model, which can be more ...

Energy optimization of quadratic thermal convection on two-phase boundary layer flow across a moving vertical flat plate

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
The need for a consistent and reliable energy supply to improve productivity is steadily increasing both in industrial and residential settings. The fulfillment of this requirement can be effectively achieved by implementing quadratic thermal radiation ...

Concurrent Terahertz Spin Excitations and Phase Shift Control in Fe4Nb2O9: A Material for Synergizing Computation and Communication Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional terahertz (THz) platform is demonstrated, in a model material Fe4Nb2O9, exhibiting a large intrinsic THz phase shift alongside distinct THz magnon excitations in its antiferromagnetic phase. This coexistence of phase modulation and spin dynamics offers a promising pathway toward integrated THz communication and magnonic computation ...

A quadratic approximation of AC power flows in transformed polar coordinates

open access: yese-Prime: Advances in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Energy
A mathematical model is the backbone of any computer-aided simulation. In electrical power systems, the well-known AC power flow equations provide the foundation for deriving various mathematical models.

Uniform Approximation with Quadratic Neural Networks

open access: yesNeural Networks
In this work, we examine the approximation capabilities of deep neural networks utilizing the Rectified Quadratic Unit (ReQU) activation function, defined as \(\max(0,x)^2\), for approximating Hölder-regular functions with respect to the uniform norm.
