A Numerical Approach to Bifurcations from Quadratic Centers
A combination of analytical and numerical work is done to analyze bifurcation of limit cycles form non-Hamiltonian codimension-three quadratic centers. This paper focusses primarily on a numerical study of the integrals which determine the number of limit cycles which persist from the period annuli.

Leaching of Lead and Zinc from a Low-Grade Oxide Ore in Citric Acid Media [PDF]
Leaching of a low-grade lead and zinc oxide ore was studied by an organic reagent, citric acid. The quadratic mathematical models were developed for the relationship among the influential parameters and lead and zinc recoveries.

The Generalization Error Bound for the Multiclass Analytical Center Classifier
This paper presents the multiclass classifier based on analytical center of feasible space (MACM). This multiclass classifier is formulated as quadratic constrained linear optimization and does not need repeatedly constructing classifiers to separate a ...

Anisotropic Thermal Conductivity in Few-Layer and Bulk Titanium Trisulphide from First Principles
We study the thermal conductivity of monolayer, bilayer, and bulk titanium trisulphide (TiS 3 ) by means of an iterative solution of the Boltzmann transport equation based on ab-initio force constants.

An Improved Imaging Algorithm for Multi-Receiver SAS System with Wide-Bandwidth Signal
When the multi-receiver synthetic aperture sonar (SAS) works with a wide-bandwidth signal, the performance of the range-Doppler (R-D) algorithm is seriously affected by two approximation errors, i.e., point target reference spectrum (PTRS) error and ...

One-dimensional Cooper pairing
We study electron pairing in a one-dimensional (1D) fermion gas at zero temperature under zero- and finite-range, attractive, two-body interactions. The binding energy of Cooper pairs (CPs) with zero total or center-of-mass momentum (CMM) increases with ...

Quadratic perturbations of a class of quadratic reversible systems with one center
This paper is concerned with the bifurcation of limit cycles from a class of one-parameter family of quadratic reversible system under quadratic perturbations. The exact upper bound of the number of limit cycles is given.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.
