Resummed effective action in the world-line formalism

open access: yes, 2003
Using the world-line method we resum the scalar one-loop effective action. This is based on an exact expression for the one-loop action obtained for a background potential and a Taylor expansion of the potential up to quadratic order in x-space.

Quadratic perturbations of a class of quadratic reversible systems with two centers

open access: yesDiscrete & Continuous Dynamical Systems - A, 2009
Quadratic perturbations of a one-parameter family of quadratic reversible systems with two centers (without other singularities in finite plane) are studied. The exact upper bound of the number of limit cycles, the configurations of limit cycles, and the bifurcation diagrams for different range of the parameter are given.

Nilpotent Center in a Continuous Piecewise Quadratic Polynomial Hamiltonian Vector Field

open access: yesInternational Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2022
In this paper, we study the global dynamics of continuous piecewise quadratic Hamiltonian systems separated by the straight line [Formula: see text], where these kinds of systems have a nilpotent center at [Formula: see text], which comes from the combination of two cusps of both Hamiltonian systems.

Biopsychosocial determinants of hand function and its trajectories over five years in patients with hand osteoarthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objectives This study aimed to investigate hand function trajectories over 5 years in primary hand osteoarthritis. Additionally, determinants of baseline and longitudinal hand function were assessed. Methods 538 patients with both baseline and 5‐year study visits were analyzed.

Resonances for a Hydrogenic System or a Harmonic Oscillator Strongly Coupled to a Field

open access: yes, 2008
We calculate resonances which are formed by a particle in a potential which is either Coulombian or quadratic when the particle is strongly coupled to a massless boson, taking only two energy levels into consideration.

Discordance Between Patient and Physician Global Assessments in Early Systemic Sclerosis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective This study aims to identify factors associated with patient global assessment (PtGA) and physician global assessment (PhGA) and discordance between them in systemic sclerosis (SSc). Methods Data from adults with early SSc (<5 years) from the Collaborative National Quality and Efficacy Registry were included.

Optimal Vibration Suppression in Modal Space for Flexible Beams Subjected to Moving Loads

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 1997
Optimal independent modal space control for vibration suppression of beam structures traversed by a moving concentrated force was examined. Two control methodologies, optimal linear quadratic tracking and an optimal linear quadratic regulator, were ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.
