Thermal Control of Concentric Topographies Patterned by Dynamic Electro‐Templated Generated Chiral Solitonic Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An electro‐templating strategy directs the relaxation of cholesteric finger loops into discrete concentric rings whose geometry is electrically programmed. The photopolymerized structures retain the topological defect pattern and, upon heating, show reversible, castle‐like surface modulation.

Twisted quadrupole topological photonic crystals

open access: yes, 2019
Topological manipulation of waves is at the heart of the cutting-edge metamaterial researches. Quadrupole topological insulators were recently discovered in two-dimensional (2D) flux-threading lattices which exhibit higher-order topological wave trapping

Giant Magnetic Purcell Effect Induced by High‐Order Mie Resonances

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High‐order Mie resonances in dielectric spheres selectively amplify magnetic dipole emission from Eu3+ emitters, producing a giant magnetic Purcell effect. Localized emitters can efficiently access high‐order resonant modes, and the low‐loss TiO2 platform enables direct far‐field observation of the enhanced emission.

Turbulence-induced noise of a submerged cylinder using a permeable FW–H method

open access: yesInternational Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, 2016
Among underwater noise sources around submerged bodies, turbulence-induced noise has not been well investigated because of the difficulty of predicting it.

THE ONSET OF CHAOS WITH A QUADRUPOLE-QUADRUPOLE INTERACTION

open access: yes, 1995
The transition from order to chaos in atomic nuclei has been studied analytically and numerically using a quadrupole-quadrupole residual interaction. This interaction leads to chaotic behaviour, but the critical energy E(C) similar or equal to 12.6 MeV ...

Architecture‐Engineered Semi‐Crystalline Microporous Polymer Membranes for Precise Molecular Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Guided by a Random Forest model, a π–π‐driven ordered stacking strategy deploys functionally distinct substructures to restrict chain segment motion and increase free volume, while preserving the intermolecular interactions that maintain structural integrity.

A Drug‐Gated, Modular STAb‐T Immunotherapy With External Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Engineered STAb‐TON cells act as programmable living factories that continuously secrete inactive antibody modules, which assemble extracellularly into a functional T cell engager only upon small‐molecule administration. This externally controlled platform enables reversible, on‐demand regulation of antitumor immunity, establishing a new paradigm for ...

Investigations of the Evolved Molecular Basis for Terpenoid Biosynthesis in Marine Sponges

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Confirming and extending a previous observation in another Bubarida sponge, genomic and functional analyses of A. cavernosa reveal that sponges retain the mevalonate pathway and employ single α‐domain T1TSs and UbiA‐type TSs for terpenoid biosynthesis. The absence of T1TSs clustering with other biosynthetic genes tentatively suggests, based on limited ...

Quadrupole-Enhanced Raman Scattering

open access: yes, 2016
Dark, nonradiating plasmonic modes are important in the Raman enhancement efficiency of nanostructures. However, it is challenging to engineer such hotspots with predictable enhancement efficiency through synthesis routes. Here, we demonstrate that spiky

Gut Microbiota‐Isoallolithocholic Acid Crosstalk Promotes Calcium Oxalate Kidney Stone Formation via PARP1‐Mediated Parthanatos

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Bile acids have been implicated in calcium oxalate (CaOx) nephrolithiasis. Here, we employ multi‐omics approaches to identify isoallolithocholic acid (isoalloLCA) as the key bile acid elevated in the feces, serum, kidney, and urine of CaOx rats, confirmed by spatial metabolomics.
