Identification of Quantitative Trait Loci Determining Vegetative Growth Traits in Coffea Canephor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Recently the use of molecular markers has been successfully applied for some crops. For coffee, new opportunities have been opened since Nestlé R&D Centre in collaboration with ICCRI completed the first genetic map of Coffea canephora. This study was

Cancer‐Like Fragmentomic Characteristics of Somatic Variants in Cell‐Free DNA

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report that in non‐cancerous subjects, cell‐free (cfDNA) molecules harboring somatic variants exhibit cancer‐like fragmentomic characteristics associated with clonal hematopoiesis. Importantly, these somatic variant‐associated fragmentomic aberrations are more pronounced in cancer patients. Leveraging such somatic variant‐associated signals in cfDNA,

Identification of Gene Variants Associated with Melanocyte Stem Cell Differentiation in Mice Predisposed for Hair Graying

open access: yesG3: Genes, Genomes, Genetics, 2019
Age-related hair graying is caused by malfunction in the regenerative potential of the adult pigmentation system. The retention of hair color over the life of an organism is dependent on the ability of the melanocyte stem cells and their progeny to ...

A Novel Targeted Learning Method for Quantitative Trait Loci Mapping [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We present a novel semiparametric method for quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping in experimental crosses. Conventional genetic mapping methods typically assume parametric models with Gaussian errors and obtain parameter estimates through maximum ...

Meta‐GWAS of Pig Semen Quality Traits Reveals Conserved Genes Regulating Mammalian Fertility

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study incorporated 14 210 individuals to perform a GWAS meta‐analysis of six semen quality traits. The GWAS meta‐analysis identifies 234 GWAS loci associated with semen quality traits. The incorporation with a functional genomics resource explains potential genetic regulation of ∼40% GWAS signals underlying semen quality traits.

Quantitative trait loci affecting reproductive phenology in peach

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology, 2014
BackgroundThe reproductive phenology of perennial plants in temperate climates is largely conditioned by the duration of bud dormancy, and fruit developmental processes.

Mapping QTLs for mineral accumulation and shoot dry biomass under different Zn nutritional conditions in Chinese cabbage ( Brassica rapa L. ssp. pekinensis ) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Chinese cabbage (Brassica rapa L. ssp. pekinensis) is one of the most important vegetables in China. Genetic dissection of leaf mineral accumulation and tolerance to Zn stress is important for the improvement of the nutritional quality of Chinese cabbage

Mendelian Randomization and Double Machine Learning Modeling Reveal Brain Imaging‐Derived Phenotypes as Functional Contributors to 18 Autoimmune Inflammatory Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This schematic integrates the eight statistically significant causal relationships identified between 1,366 brain imaging‐derived phenotypes (IDPs) and 18 autoimmune inflammatory diseases (AIDs). Arrows indicate the direction of causality inferred from bidirectional two‐sample MR analyses.

Heritability and tissue specificity of expression quantitative trait loci.

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2006
Variation in gene expression is heritable and has been mapped to the genome in humans and model organisms as expression quantitative trait loci (eQTLs). We applied integrated genome-wide expression profiling and linkage analysis to the regulation of gene
