The Quench Action

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Mechanics: Theory and Experiment, 2016
We give a pedagogical introduction to the methodology of the Quench Action, which is an effective representation for the calculation of time-dependent expectation values of physical operators following a generic out-of-equilibrium state preparation protocol (for example a quantum quench).

Water in Deep Eutectic Solvents: New Insights From Inelastic Neutron Scattering Spectroscopy

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2022
The effect of water on the physicochemical properties of deep eutectic solvents (DES) is a trending research topic. In this work, inelastic neutron scattering (INS) spectroscopy, was used to probe intermolecular interactions in the water-deep eutectic ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

A single quenching point for a fractional heat equation based on the Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative with a nonlinear concentrate source

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2017
This paper aims to study the quenching problem in a fractional heat equation with the Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative. The existence and uniqueness of a solution for the problem are obtained by transforming the problem to an equivalent integral ...

Quenching Behavior of the Electrochemiluminescence of Ru(bpy)32+/TPrA System by Phenols on a Smartphone‐Based Sensor

open access: yesChemistryOpen, 2021
Phenolic compounds such as vanillic and p‐coumaric acids are pollutants of major concern in the agro‐industrial processing, thereby their effective detection in the industrial environment is essential to reduce exposure.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

New Model for Estimating the Volume of Martensite Transformed Using Acoustic Emission Measurements During an Induction Hardening Process

open access: yesMetals
The accurate detection and quantification of martensitic transformation in steel during quenching are essential for controlling the resulting material properties. Numerous studies have investigated this phenomenon using Acoustic Emission (AE) techniques,

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...
