Isolation of Two New Ionone Glucosides from Quince ( Cydonia Oblonga Mill.) Leaves

Natural Product Letters, 2002
The 9-O-beta-D-glucopyranosides of (6R)-3-oxo-4-hydroxy-7,8-dihydro-alpha-ionol 1 and 3-oxo-5,6-epoxy-beta-ionol 2 were isolated from quince leaves. The glycosidic extract was obtained by XAD-2 adsorption and MeOH elution. After DCCC separation and flash chromatography, purification by high performance liquid chromatography was carried out.

Isolation of additional carotenoid metabolites from quince fruit (Cydonia oblonga Mill.)

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 1992
(S)-Abscisic alcohol and the β-D-glucopyranoside of (4R,1'E,3'E)-4-(5'-hydroxy-3'-methyl-1',3'-pentadienyl)-3,5,5-trimethyl-2-cyclohexen-1-one have been isolated and characterized in quince (Cydonia oblonga Mill.) fruit through spectral (NMR, MS) data. On the basis of the finding of these C 15 terpenoids, oxidative degradation of plant carotenoids is ...

In vitro micropropagation of quince (Cydonia oblonga Mill.)

Scientia Horticulturae, 1986
Abstract Methods are described for the in vitro propagation of Provence quince for pear rootstock, making possible the production of a large number of plants from micro-cuttings. The influence of 6-benzylaminopurine concentrations on shoot multiplication and elongation was determined. The best rate of shoot multiplication was obtained with 2 mg l−1 6-

Factors affecting in vitro propagation of quince (Cydonia oblonga Mill.)

Journal of Horticultural Science, 1992
Shoot tips about 1 mm long were isolated from dormant or growing buds of quince (Cydonia oblonga Mill., cv. MA) and cultured on a large range of nutrient media. The optimum composition of nutrient media for each phase of growth was defined. The cultures were initiated on a medium solidified with agar (0.62%), containing MS mineral solution, 2% sucrose,
