Overcoming Photochemical Limitations in Covalent Organic Frameworks: Low‐energy Light Driven Selective 1O2 Generation Achieved by Donor‐Acceptor Strategy

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Singlet oxygen (1O2) plays a crucial role in various photocatalytic oxidation reactions; however, achieving high‐efficiency and selective 1O2 production under low‐energy light remains a challenge. Herein, we present a novel donor‐acceptor (D‐A) strategy in covalent organic frameworks (COFs) to regulate the localized electronic state structures for ...

Assessing the Thermo‐Oxidative Degradation of 6FDA‐Based Thermosetting Polyimides Using a Combination of Isothermal and Non‐Isothermal TGA

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates and compares the thermal stability of two 6FDA‐based thermosetting polyimide formulations with varied amounts of internal crosslinkers. The baseline formulation is a commercially available polyimide with good resin transfer molding processability and a high glass transition temperature, Tg, in the range of 340°C–466°C ...

Emergence of Staphylococcus aureus Resistance to Antimicrobial Peptides Nisin, NZ2114 and Bacitracin Involves Multiple Phenotypic Changes

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
The AMP‐induced mutant Staphylococcus aureus strain nzR showed increased resistance, five gene mutations, and decreased surface anion levels. AMPs affect the NDH‐2 protein encoded by ndh gene inhibiting the growth of S. aureus. The deletion of the ndh gene promotes the development of AMPs resistance.

Fine‐Tuning NIR‐Absorbing BODIPYs for Photoacoustic Detection of Hypochlorous Ion (OCl−)

open access: yesChemistry – An Asian Journal, Volume 20, Issue 6, March 17, 2025.
High selectivity for hypochlorous ion over other competing reactive oxygen species was achieved by optimizing different regioisomers of conjugation‐extended, near‐infrared‐absorbing BODIPYs for photoacoustic imaging. Abstract Highly reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (ROS/RNS) play crucial roles in various pathological conditions.
