A note on duplication of R&D and R&D subsidies [PDF]

open access: yesEconomics Bulletin, 2004
We show that the presumed incompatibility of uncoordinated R&D and competition is not fundamental, but hinges on the nature of R&D spillovers. As a consequence, R&D subsidies may be more effective than previously thought.

Targeting DNA damage response components induces enhanced STING-dependent type-I IFN response in ATM deficient cancer cells and drives dendritic cell activation

open access: yesOncoImmunology, 2022
The concept of exploiting tumor intrinsic deficiencies in DNA damage repair mechanisms by inhibiting compensatory DNA repair pathways is well established. For example, ATM-deficient cells show increased sensitivity to the ATR inhibitor ceralasertib.

Clinical impact of subclonal EGFR T790M mutations in advanced-stage EGFR-mutant non-small-cell lung cancers

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
A recent clinical trial shows that a proportion of lung cancer patients carrying the EGFR T790M mutation develop resistance to osimertinib. In this study, the authors show that T790M subclonality is associated with worse clinical outcome likely through ...
