Femtosecond Laser Tagging in R134a with Small Quantities of Air

Femtosecond laser tagging is demonstrated for the first time in R134a (1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane) gas, and in mixtures of R134a with small quantities of air. A systematic study of this tagging method is explored through the adjustment of gas pressure, mixture ratio and laser properties.

The stability and activity of commercial immobilized lipase from Candida antarctica (Novozym 435) in subcritical 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (R134a) was investigated. The esterification of oleic acid with glycerol was studied as a model reaction in subcritical R134a and in solvent-free conditions.
