Pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (pNEN) are rare and heterogeneous tumors with increasing incidence. While surgical resection remains the only curative treatment, perioperative outcomes are influenced by patient‐related risk factors. Recent research highlights body composition (BC) as a prognostic marker in oncological and transplantation surgery ...

Pathophysiology of Delayed Gastric Conduit Emptying After Oesophagectomy: A Multicentre Cohort Study
In this multicentre study of 272 patients, early and late delayed gastric conduit emptying after oesophagectomy emerged as distinct phenotypes. Early DGCE was predicted by open surgery, whereas late DGCE was predicted by GOJ tumour location and postoperative complications.

How to counter the problem of R1 resection in duodenopancreatectomy for pancreatic cancer?
Although duodenopancreatectomy has been standardized for many years, the pathological examination of the specimen was re-described in the last years. In methodical pathological studies up to 85% had an R1 margin.1,2 These mainly involved the posterior ...

ABSTRACT Background Pelvic exenteration (PE) has emerged as a viable resection strategy for locally advanced and recurrent pelvic cancers; however, it carries the burden of significant morbidity. The vertical rectus abdominis myocutaneous (VRAM) flap is a reconstructive method designed to minimise postoperative wound complications, and this study ...

A Word of Caution: Watch and Wait in the Total Mesorectal Excision Era
Among 573 patients undergoing long‐course neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy and total mesorectal excision between 2006 and 2020, five‐year overall survival was 85.7%. Local recurrence was 3.4% and metastatic recurrence was 16.5%. Pathological stage and tumour regression grade stratified long‐term outcomes, providing regional benchmarks for evaluating organ‐

A practical formalin‐fixed, paraffin‐embedded (FFPE)‐based molecular workflow integrating pathology, immunohistochemistry, and genomic profiling provides clinically meaningful subgroup classification of pediatric medulloblastoma and expands molecular evidence from an underrepresented Central Asian population. Abstract Medulloblastoma is the most common
