The Radical Chemistry of 2,3‐Diguanidinopyridines: Coordination and Visible‐Light Photochemistry

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Substitution at the pyridine core of 2,3‐diguanidinopyridines was used to develop novel redox‐active molecules with three interconvertible redox states. They are applied as redox‐active ligands in coordination chemistry. Visible‐light irradiation of the pyridine N‐benzylated molecules leads to photoconversion to a higher‐energetic isomer.

RAAS inhibition and mortality in hypertension

open access: yesGlobal Cardiology Science and Practice, 2013
The renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) regulates the body's hemodynamic equilibrium, circulating volume, and electrolyte balance, and is a key therapeutic target in hypertension, the world's leading cause of premature mortality. Hypertensive disorders are strongly linked with an overactive RAAS, and RAAS inhibitors, like angiotensin-converting
