Astroviruses in Rabbits

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2011
By screening rabbits with enterocolitis or enteritis complex and asymptomatic rabbits, we identified a novel astrovirus. The virus was distantly related (19.3%-23.7% aa identity) in the capsid precursor to other mammalian astroviruses within the Mamastrovirus genus.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

INJECTION EFFECT OF GIBBERELLIC AND/ OR BORIC ACID TO RABBITS ON RESPONSE OF SPERMATOZOA TO HYPO-OSMOTIC SWELLING TEST [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Animal and Poultry Production, 2013
A total number of forty eight sexually mature New-Zealand White (NZW) rabbit bucks of nine months age were used in this experiment. The experiment was designed to evaluate grade and percentages of progressive sperm motility, in addition to percentages of

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
