Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

DUCK VIRAL ENTERITIS IN EGYPT: ISOLATION AND DETECTION OF THE CIRCULATING VIRUS DURING OUTBREAKS FROM 2016-2018

open access: yesSlovenian Veterinary Research, 2021
: Duck viral enteritis (DVE) is an acute and contagious herpes virus infection with a potential threat to domestic and wild waterfowl. In this study, 75% mortality rate with 40% drop in egg production was recorded among the examined flocks.

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

IDENTIFICATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF THE CURRENTLY CIRCULATING RABBIT HEMORRHAGIC DISEASE VIRUS ISOLATES [PDF]

open access: yesAssiut Veterinary Medical Journal
Even among vaccinated rabbits, the virus that causes rabbit viral hemorrhagic disease (RHDV) has been increasing in Egypt recently. So, the current study screened the emergent RHDV of vaccinated and unvaccinated domestic rabbits in some Egyptian ...

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

may be the possible cause of duplicated parts.’ In either case, during subsequent development, internal rearrangements of cells and tissues must support the vital processes of the extra parts, and interesting aspects of regulation are seen in the present specimen.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.
