Sphinganine‐phosphate prevents influenza infection via promoting CD8+ T cells proliferation and activation

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
This study established clinical cohorts of respiratory viral infections and identified sphinganine‐phosphate (SA) as a metabolite significantly upregulated post‐infection through metabolomic analysis. In vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrated that SA promotes the generation of effector CD8+ T cells via the SOCS1/JAK1/STAT1 pathway, which ...

RNAi Inhibition of Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) Gene Expression in CHO Cell Line [PDF]

open access: yesمجلة جامعة النجاح للأبحاث العلوم الطبيعية, 2008
Rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) causes great losses and is life threatening to both wild and domestic rabbits. This work represents the first step toward production of transgenic rabbits resistant to RHDV by RNAi through the inhibition of ...

Myeloablative Busulfan, Fludarabine and Melphalan Conditioning for Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Childhood Myeloid Malignancy

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology, EarlyView.
We report our single‐center experience of transplant outcomes with a busulfan, fludarabine and melphalan‐based conditioning regimen for children < 18 years of age. The regimen was shown to be well tolerated and effective for heavily pretreated children with high‐risk myeloid malignancies prior to allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant.

Macrophage tropism of rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus is associated with vascular pathology

open access: yesVirus Research, 1999
To delineate the interactions between rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) and host cells, organ and cellular targets of infection were identified in vivo. Viral specific antigens were detected by immunohistochemistry in liver, lung, spleen and lymph nodes cells.

Air embolism secondary to suspected lymphatic tissue disruption with severe exercise‐induced pulmonary haemorrhage

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Education, EarlyView.
Summary Air embolism is rare in horses and typically associated with complications following intravenous catheterisation or other medical procedures. Exercise‐induced pulmonary haemorrhage (EIPH) is common in racehorses but not usually associated with air embolism. This report describes a case of air embolism in a 4‐year‐old Thoroughbred with EIPH. The

Pulmonary vein aneurysm in a New Zealand White rabbit: a case report

open access: yesLaboratory Animal Research, 2022
Background Pulmonary venous aneurysm (PVA) is a rare condition characterized by aneurysmal dilatation of the pulmonary vein in humans. The diagnosis is incidental usually as there are no clinical symptoms.

Degradomics for large‐scale mechanistic insights on proteases and proteolysis in human health

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Proteolysis has an important role in human disease but remains relatively unexplored. Degradomics, the uncovering of proteolysis in tissues, cells, and proteins, uses mass spectrometry‐based terminomics to identify protein termini occurring therein (forward degradomics) and to define the actions of proteases (reverse degradomics).

Inhibition of interferon signaling improves rabbit calicivirus replication in biliary organoid cultures

open access: yesJournal of Virology
The Rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) was discovered 40 years ago. This highly pathogenic virus threatens the integrity of ecosystems in the European rabbit’s native range, while in Australia, it is used as a biocontrol tool to manage overabundant ...

Serotypic and Genomic Diversity of Vibrio anguillarum in Rainbow Trout Farms in Turkey: Implications for Vibriosis Control and Vaccine Candidate Selection

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Outbreaks of vibriosis caused by Vibrio anguillarum are a persistent constraint on rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) aquaculture. However, information on the population structure of field strains in Turkey has been lacking. Here, we report the first systematic serotypic, proteomic, and genomic characterization of 23 V.

Rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV): Ultrastructure and biochemical studies of typical and core-like particles present in liver homogenates

open access: yes, 1996
Calicivirus particles isolated from rabbits suffering from acute RHD were compared with virions found in rabbits with chronic disease. Liver homogenates of rabbits with the protracted disease display no hemagglutinating activity and contain viral ...
